Draft at Churchkey, 5/23/14. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, vanilla. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mildly bitter finish.

Taster on tap at Churchkey. Black color. Thin tan head. Decent ridges of lace. Awesome big coffee aroma in the nose. Some dark fruit in the flavor. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. More dry finish, minimal sweet. Light to medium body. Lightly chewy texture. More dry finish. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Solid coffee porter... Satisfyingly big amount of coffee, that lasts long into the finish... But it may be a bit thin in the body. I feel like I am drinking straight coffee here, and it’s good for that reason. But I’d like to see the beer shine a bit more.

Draft at ChurchKey. Pours an amber-y chestnut color. Aroma is intense cold brew, milk chocolate, light earthy hops. slight berry-like fruit. Taste is intense coffee, cardamom, toasted grains, bitter chocolate. Some husky astringency on the finish. Slightly more watery than ideal, but drinkable. Good.

Pint at brewpub. Good Aroma sweet. Coffee. Duh. Cocoa. Dark orangy brown color. No head our lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, thin smooth mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Nice. Smooth easy drinking you gotta like coffee. And I do. .

Tap at Foothills. Pours dark brown with a small ring of tan lace. Nose is coffee grounds, light cocoa, roast. Flavor shows lots of coffee up front, a good dose of roast, light cocoa bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Solid.

On tap at Foothills. Pours dark chocolate brown. Aroma is robust of coffee grounds and simcoe. Flavor has loads of coffee grounds backed by plenty of earthy hops. Dirt, pine, and wet coffee grounds balanced with caramelized sugar and cola. Thin body with a fizzy palate. Earthy coffee notes linger. This works really well. Come on, Foothills: when you experiment it can work. Do more tweaks like this!
