3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours almost opaque violet-black, with a nice ice-cream head that leaves pocked lacing down the glass. The nose is of dark chocolates galore, with a light hint of vinous notes. Flavors of dark fruits, bitter chocolates, pitted dark citrus fruits, light yeasty esters, and some dry cracker, bitter chocolates and dark pitted esters to finish. This comes together very well, with a nice drinkability factor, full of substance and complexity, with a subtly dry "baking chocolate" mouthfeel; showing forth a silky, yet semi-active palate. If this is truly from the "people", I’d have to say that it is an extremely good offering for the many "people" involved to come together on this recipe. Kudos!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to glass. Amazing porter. Solid brew. Dark brown in color and allows some light. Lacing noted after a nice 1/2 inch head. Love the malty smell. Great Porter but love the BA version so much more!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown, barely translucent, with a thin tan head. Smells of coffee. Has a strong coffee aftertaste. Not a bad porter. I’d hoped for more, but the ash-like taste on the tongue is just too much.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours jet black with a beautiful bubbling dark khaki foam head that sticks to my glass. The aroma is of dark roasted malts, chocolate, sugar sweetner, mild hop character, and possibly some herbs were added. It is very earthy and not intense in aroma. As for flavor is full of roasted malts, minor sweet malt taste, weak bitter chocolate malts, and a medium level of hop bitterness. Overall a good bitter porter.

Bomber into a tulip
Dark cola color with a tight light brown head. Light carvbonation showing.
Nose was earthy coffee, chocolate, caramel. Nice well balanced smell.
Taste was similar to nose but more slanted towards the chocolate and caramel, with the finish being the earthy coffee and bitterness.
Smooth and easy to drink with the slight amount of bitterness. Medium bodied and light carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Traded bottle of unknown vintage. Pours very dark brown with a thick brown head and foamy lacing. Mellow aroma of dark malt and brown sugar. Flavor is slightly acidic coffee and some dark chocolate with lingering bitterness. Fine.

dammit, another example of trying to cram too much hops into a style that doesnt need it. why some american brewers feel the need to do this to every style they make is aggravating.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I had the bbl porter and really like that so I tried this right after. Six pack bottles. Poured black with light tan foam. Dark with strong, but balanced aroma. Medium with not too heavy flavors. Finish was balanced and did not stay too long on the tongue. This is a good, every day porter.
