Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque with a fringe of light creeping through the edges, dark brown with a 2-finger tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, nuts and toffee. Taste of chocolate, coffee, nuts, roasted malt and toffee. Medium body and medium/high carbonation. Very nice porter with a good blend of flavors and an aroma to match. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by a pretty chill dude. Pours an opaque dark brown with tan head. Really nice porter with all the tasty elements: roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate.

On tap at Sedona Taphouse, Midlothian, Va. Craft-brewed example of Robust Porter. Color: Dark brown, almost black; opaque. Appearance: Medium-sized, long-lasting tan head; very good lacing. Aroma: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, toffee. Flavor: Hop-forward bitterness, chocolate, caramel, toffee; Some malty background. Texture: Light-medium body, somewhat watery, medium carbonation. Finish: Bitter and dry for a Porter, with moderately lingering coffee aftertaste. Summary: A very sessionable beer in spite of the ABV and an IBU worthy of a Pilsner.

Dark opaque brown with ruby highlits. Small off tan head with little bubbles. Aroma is hard to judge due to wind. Coffee tast with hints of dark chocolate, slight bitterness to balance the sweetness. Very smooth with a full body and creamy mouthfeel. Excellent beer

Rcvd in trade. Reviewed by notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking dark hazy brown to an almost black color. The lacing was a nice looking sticky streaming trickles sliding right on down into the beer. The smell had a nice roasty to sweet dark chocolate to light coffee blend. The taste took those previously mentioned flavors to blend extraordinarily. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled to have a fairly good roastiness on the tongue and still allowing a decent sharpness from some bitter coffee beans to make a worthy effort of a pummeling on the tongue. Overall, this was a pretty good Porter I’d have again.

12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate and toffee, light coffee, and light notes of bitterness and dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent porter.

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz ($2): Pours pretty near to black with a great looking head. Aroma is earthy, toffee, caramel, plant matter, and hints of coffee. Taste to me seems more coffee. Somewhat mineralish and herbal. Interesting flavors. Well balanced through and through. Very smooth. Very slightly sweet. Mild sugary afftertaste.
