Tap at Southern Rail. Pours a deep ruby looking black. Thin layer of coffee foam. Nose is rich malted milk balls, milk chocolate. Moves to puppy breath. Taste is tangy, lemon tea. Pretty thin with some soil/earth grittiness. Pretty average overall. Soil grittiness and lemon tea character unwanted. My rating: 3.2. Fiancé rating: 3.7. She says a bit chalky on finish and coffee forward. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lingering tan head on a dark brown pour. Some reddish highlights and spotty lacing. Aromas of toffee, slight earthiness, roasted malts and coffee, some milk chocolate. Med body with crisp carb. Fairly smooth and creamy(more so on tap). Balanced finish. Flavor of raosted coffee and milk chocolate start off w/ coffee bitterness and an herbal sweetness that reminds me a bit of Jaegarmeister. Excellent porter.

What a nice pint - great label, deep dark brew. Distinct bittersweet chocolate character - a little sweeter that what I was expecting from a porter. Roasty, burnt sugars, bittering was mostly from roast and not hops. Slick mouthfeel. Quite good. Thanks to LuckyDog for supporting my rating habit!
