A small fizzy white head with some nice lacing. Pours a clear amber color. The flavor is mostly a floral hop, but has more of the bitterness than actual hop flavor. A little bit of malt, but seems somewhat unbalanced. Medium body leaving a nice manageable bitter on the tongue. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Sample @ Foothills: Nice red-orange hue with bubbly head. Sort of a hop bomb I wasn’t expecting for just a pale ale. Aggressively hopped, aroma of toasted caramel malt. So flavorful, I was hard-pressed to believe it was under 5%. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Great pale ale. Nice hoppyness that is tartly crisp. The hops really draw out the strong flavor of citrus in this one. Nice and light lending to the crispness. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 3/21/05:
Pours a bright clean clear amber/copper. Timid off-white head. Loose sloppy lace. Mild aromas of herbal hoppiness and bready malt. Flavors are amiable with solid malt beginnings; bread dough and grains. An ample bitterness grabs hold of either side of your tongue and wrenches hold. Glimpses of citrus overtakenby earthen herbal notes. Balanced well with its sweet maltiness and hoppy bitterness. Firm mouthfeel and an engaging drinkablity. gotohelunc (476), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2007 Draft at Brixxx. A solid, no frills APA all the way. Typical copper color with a small but fairly long-lasting white head. Leans more towards hops than malt in both smell and taste. Goes down as smooth as anything you can buy and leaves the mouth wanting more. In my book, this is the definition of a simple, pleasing session beer. I’d buy a lot of 6-packs of this....if they’d bottle it. brewski519 (441), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2009 On tap it pours an amber color with an off white head and the aroma of citrus, hops, bread and caramel. Nice grapefruit taste and medium carbonation - biscuity finish. Good Pale Ale from a local brewer... wish they would bottle. zizzybalubba (405), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 On tap at Foothills. Dark, burnt orange in color. Strong grapefruit rind and malty aroma. Bitter citrus hop flavor of mostly tangerine and grapefruit. A good, well done pale ale. Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2005 On tap at the brew pub, pours a clear golden color with a bubbly white head. Smells hoppy, and tastes like grassy hops, but not in an overwhelming way. A solid IPA.
