Yes sir! On tap, and my vote for Beer of the Day at the Microfestivus ’07. Ruby-mahogany pour, with a nice eggshell head... great retention and frothy lace. Candied malts and floral/pine nose. This is a big bold brew with plenty of thick, sweet malts upfront. This accompanies pine nuts and slight citrus and rind/zest hints. The finish is of floral bitters that grow into peppery pine, bolder and bolder even after the pull is finished. ABV is well-integrated into the tapestry of complexion. Thick, syrupy body and a chewy mouthfeel make this a truly awesome example of the style! Great job, Foothills!

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark amber/garnet. Small, creamy, tan head. Aroma of piney, resinous, floral hops, stale grain, and a hint of regurgatation. Flavor is vey balanced for a IIPA- same hops with a generous amount of caramel cookie malt. Resinous, bittersweet finish. Full body, smooth. Very good minus the small flaw in the aroma.

Courtesy dsnowden. Pours an amber/maroon with a small light tan head. Smells of grapefruit hops, with a big malt background. Maybe a little dark fruit in there too. The taste is very sweet and malty in the taste. Alot of caramel in there along with hops. The hops are most detectable in the finish and the aftertaste. Its not as nearly hoppy as you’d expect being a double IPA, the malt was just huge in this beer. Stil pretty good, not what I was expecting.

On tap at Foothills brewpup. I enjoyed this one alot. Very drinkable and hoppy all in one. Syrupy and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Sweet taste throughout. Caramel, citrus and fruit; with a substantial bitterness at the end.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ordered on tap at Flying Saucer- Charlotte. A full maltiness offsets the 100+ IBUs nicely. Not a lot of pine or citrus, but rather a strawberry/kiwi flavor with a thick mouthfeel. This beers density works on a cool winter night, its fruitiness on a warm summer evening. Wither way - a lot of bang for the buck in this $2.50 pint special.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared by sliffy. Dark and murky chestnut body. The aroma is a combination of candy caramel and cintrus hops--very nice. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy--but not medicinal. The flavor is definitely sweet, plenty of caramel malt presence for sure. The hops are very bitter tastewise, but do not overpower the rest of the beer. Very good stuff.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler courtesy of gottalottaibu (thanks alex): Pours amber with a creamy off white head. Aroma, citrus and earthy hops abound with some caramel and pale malts. Flavor, juicy citrus hop notes, with some caramel malts, and a nice underlying sweetness, a pretty solid bit of bitterness comes through on the end. Medium bodied, very easy drinking. Great stuff.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
on tap-pours an off white head and cloudy copper color. Aroma is sweet citrus hops, good secondary medium malt. Swirl it and it changes character to candy sugar, dark fruit, alcohol-like a Belgian quad? Taste is citrus/pine-hops, medium malt-sweet. Thick mouth feel, alcohol. Mild carbonation. Sipping.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Barley’s taproom in Asheville. Poured a clear deep orange color with a tight white head. Sharp, strong pineapple and grapefruit hop aromas assault the nose. Viscous sticky palate. Strong deep pineapple taste dominate with the finish marked by a rich sweetness. A unique DIPA, in that I haven’t had one with quite the flavor this one has.
