Foothills’ first high gravity beer may have you Seeing Double. The hops are balanced with just enough body to craft a highly drinkable brew. Expect a full body and a hint of citrus from the seven varieties of hops added to the brew. IBU: 126.

Bottle. Cloudy honey orange color. Aroma is light citra, floral, marmalade. Taste is unexpectedly sweet. The hops are there, but overwhelmed by sweet malts. Bitter? Hardly. 126 IBU’s? Maybe 26. It’s good, but needs more hops flavor. Oh, and it’s very smooth. Don’t forget it’s 9.4%!

Bottle thanks to jtclockwork. Pours clearish orange with white head, irregular lacing. Aroma: candied citrus (orange zest), resinous with caramel underpinning. Taste is moderately sweet with a rather bitter finish that lasts and lasts, but never seems to overcome the initial sweetness. Medium body, prickly carbonation.

22 oz bottle The D/IPA pours a cloudy light amber with a small head and no lacing. The ale a light resin ,citrus aroma. The taste was more complex with fruity pine and light bitterness. The high ABV was deceptive. This is a wonderful balance D/IPA with a warm bitterness from beginning to end. The medium body ale had soft carbonation. The smooth finish had lingering citrus bitterness that stayed in the upper mouth.

Draft at Barley’s during RBWG Opening Dinner - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a soft, white foam head. A heavy DIPA, just a bit much. Some present alcohol, rindy citrus, grass, pine. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, obvious alcohol, aggressive bitterness. Meh.

Draft at RBWG meet & greet. Poured a good looking solid deep orange with a creamy average sized bright white head. Fuller body with stronger carbonation and a lingering creamy aftertaste. Aroma and flavor of old citrus, dough, wet toast, grassy hops. This is either way too balanced or a bit old.
