This is a good, solid beer, but not one of my favorites. Cloudy appearance, full body, and it smells sweet, but I didnít expect and didnít love the grapefruit flavor.

Very good high gravity IPA. Iíve enjoyed several Foothills brews and really like the dlouble IPAs so Iíll compare this to Dogfish Head 90 (a most excellent brew). The aroma is a bit heavy on hops, but very pleasant. The appearance is more gold than amber with just a bit of bubbly. The pour was good with just enough head but not too foamy. The taste is remarkably smoothe for an IPA, yet still hoppy and full of flavor. The pint+6 is also a great size vs. 2 twelves. Iíll probably stick with the Dogfish Head 90, but this is just behind.

Bottle. Pours orange with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is floral hop and grapefruit. Medium mouth, grapefruit, pine, nice bitterness, resin finish, very nice.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden orange color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting cap/ring. Splotchy lacing left behind. Slightly earthy citrus hop aroma with dank buds, resinous, grassy pine needle and tropical fruit notes. Floral grass notes and pine needle followed by hints of mango, pineapple, grapefruit and lemon peel. Surprising citrus/tropical fruit character countered by subtle bread and biscuit malt. Medium bodied with a blast of earthy bitterness that lingers over the sweet tropical/citrus fruit notes and pale malt backbone into a dry finish. Sticky, dry and bitter with grassy, piney hops followed by grapefruit sweetness, pineapple and orang zest. Malt backbone is a touch stronger than expected balancing things out but doesnít interfere with the hop flavor. Some toffee, biscuit, bread and graham cracker flavor in the finish. Well balanced and easy to drink with subtle alcohol heat in the finish yet the abv is well masked. Nice beer from foothills.
