Opaque in color with a finger sized dark brown head that holds itís shape well. Smells of black molassas and chocolate. The flavor is of rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, molassas and licorice. Thick mouthfeel but silky smooth. This is only the second beer that stained the glass after it was empty. The other being Dark Lord. Way to easy to drink as the abv is not noticable. Had on-tap at the release.

Dark black with a creamy brown head leaving streaky lacing down the glass. Sweet, chocolate, and licorice aroma. Chocolate brownie flavor backed up by a slight roast character and bitter finish. Quite thick and chewy. I wish I could drink this all the time.

On tap at Sexual Chocolate Day, at a fine meal in the company of The Beer Cellar, TurdFerguson, and several other estimable folks from various sites. Having missed this on local taps last year, I was ready by this point to be let down after all the hype. Nope, this stuff rocks hard. Very thick pour, just like I like it; canít see even a sliver of light through the snifter. A big body with substantial aroma, and it tastes even better. Not so much chocolate in the taste to me, though itís there in the smooth finish. What I get is a LOT of dark roast coffee and that molasses is definitely in there strongly. The combination of flavors reminds me a bit of the Abyss, actually. Compares very favorably. Kudos to Foothills!

Draft at Tylerís. Pitch black with a nice tan head and heavy lacing. Intense aroma of chocolate, rich black coffee, and sugar. Excellently balanced flavors...roasted nuts, dark chocolate, nice sweetness, and a little alcohol. Actually thereís surprisingly little alcohol on the flavor and the finish for a beer thatís this strong. It goes down as smooth as many well made stouts with half the strength. Lovely stuff...now if only I could get more of it somehow.

Foothills Sexual Chocolate Stout Bottle. Courtesy of Papsoe [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Large reddish brown thick creamy head that mostly stuck to the glass. Pitch black color. Excellent lacework. The initial sniff came chocolate, sweet coffee, roasted malt, vinous feel, dried fruit mix. Over the palate amazing complex chocolate, liquorish, roasted malt, grain, plums and date. Quit complex. Full bodied with an average carbonation and thick texture light alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor with counter bitter notes. Lingering chocolate and complex malt note finish. Wow that was extremely nice! Once again Papsoe delivers on every tasting! 8 / 4 / 9 / 4 / 17 = 4.2

RB#2700: Handbottled, thanks to Papsoe for pulling this out. Pours dark brown with a lacing mild chocolate brown head. Thick chocolate malty aroma with a mild note of dried fruit. Dark chocolate flavoured, solid bitterness. Finish lingers with a solid dark chocolate and a really heavy bitterness. Chocolate and bitterness overload - brilliant.

GABF. First beer of the event. Was actually running for Utopias, but this caught my eye. First and favorite actually. Dark pour with nice head. Lots of roasty coffee in the aromas. Flavor was more coffee, and crazy amounts of nice sweet chocolate. Very Very Good.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2009 Appearance: Pours a near-black body with a thin, tan-colored head. Smell: Roasted malt aroma with full notes of melted semi-sweet chocolate, dark caramel, and nuts. Taste: Rich, roasty semi-sweet chocolate taste with hints of anise and molasses. Faint taste of peanut butter. Moderate acidity. Some grassy hops and light notes of coffee appear near the bittersweet finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A mouthfeel as lusciously smooth as the name implies. Drinkability: Highly recommended, itís a very tasty RIS from the folks over at Foothills. Kudos for hiding that 10% abv, too!
