draft. ’08, ’09, & ’10 in succession. ’08 Jet black smooth/ Very little head. Obvious choc. w/ ever slight roast backing. Perfect velvet mouth feel w/ tingling alcohol. ’09 More head, more hops. Roast takes on more coffee. ’10 More heat. Less tame. Less choc. & roast. More in yo’ Face. ~Proves the worth of patience. The older, the more layers/subtleties. New, the volume is @ 12! Too loud to hear the individual voices. Time, Time, Time. All-in-all a Great Impy. Stout!~

650ml bottle enjoyed @ home, 2015 vintage, thanks to Brian Parker!. Pours pitch black with an average beige head. Aroma is cocoa and lots of it! Coffee, roasted malt, molasses, vanilla, dark bitter chocolate and caramel. Taste is medium+ bitter and medium sweet. Full bodied, smooth texture, average carbonation. Finish is cocoa and dark chocolate, quite bitter.

2014 Bottle at tasting, many thanks! Pours black with tan head. Lots of chocolate, roasted malt, slight coffee and vanilla. Taste follows the same with big chocolate notes, coffee, and some mild caramel beneath. Long, slightly bitter coffee finish. Very nice!

Bottle. Grabbed one off the shelf right out of the box. Instant buyers remorse when it rang up for $18. Sat in the fridge for about two months. Pours like a beautiful imp. stout. Aroma and flavor dominated by soy sauce. Some anise spice but not living up to the hype.
