Incredibly delicious and not too thick but still very sweet. The color is an awesome caramel. I will definitely drink this again if I find it on tap

Flat out prefect beer. Delicious, alcohol is well hidden, thick and hearty, but sweet and delicious

Bottle with many thanks to decaturstevo. Wow! This one rivals for the best beer I’ve had. Definitely in the top 3! Pours thick black with tan head. Good lacing. Nose is cocoa nibs, chocolate, bourbon, espresso, coffee, toffee and lots of other goodness. Taste is similar flavors. The cocoa nibs really shine. A tad sticky, but that doesn’t distract from this overall masterpiece.

Draught. Pours a thick black color with a moderate tan head. Nose has some nice roasting and chocolate elements to it. Taste is super smooth and easy to drink, with the chocolate coming through just enough to make it an excellent way to start your morning.

Pint @ Sticks & Stones.
Pour: Dark, thick pour with beautiful thin cocoa-brown head. Great lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, espresso notes.
Taste: Velvety mouth feel. Incredibly smooth from start to finish. High abv is not evident in the fantastic blending of tastes.
Overall: Incredibly balanced stout. Blessed that this beast is created just up the highway from where I live. The graphic used for the stout is pretty darn cool, also. When I wear this Foothills shirt in public, it always elicits interesting comments.

On tap at The Busy Bee in Raleigh. Black pour with a thin brown head. Dark chocolate and espresso aroma. Rich coffee, chocolate, and smoke flavor with a hint of dark fruit. Moderate alcohol warming. Nearly perfectly done. I’ve tried samples of this before but this was my first full glass. Well worth the hype.

Fantastic aroma, color. Brown head hints of intense flavor, with just a hint of chocolate. Not too much!! High alcohol evident in slight whiskey notes. A top beer.

Draft at Tyler’s. Pitch black with a nice tan head and heavy lacing. Intense aroma of chocolate, rich black coffee, and sugar. Excellently balanced flavors...roasted nuts, dark chocolate, nice sweetness, and a little alcohol. Actually there’s surprisingly little alcohol on the flavor and the finish for a beer that’s this strong. It goes down as smooth as many well made stouts with half the strength. Lovely stuff...now if only I could get more of it somehow.

Opaque in color with a finger sized dark brown head that holds it’s shape well. Smells of black molassas and chocolate. The flavor is of rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, molassas and licorice. Thick mouthfeel but silky smooth. This is only the second beer that stained the glass after it was empty. The other being Dark Lord. Way to easy to drink as the abv is not noticable. Had on-tap at the release.
