Growler thanks to BleacherBum sampled on 3/14/07: Pours a viscous dark mahogany, nearly opaque with a thin wispy dark tan head. Sweet dark caramel and chocolatey aroma has some dark fruity notes and earthy molten chocolate with a touch of fresh piny American hops. Body starts very full, sweet, dark caramely and with lots of sweet milk chocolate, oatmeal and some lingering, drier roasty notes toward the finish. Very nicely balanced and complex, a great imperial stout!

Very nice! Pours out a deep black color with a small dark brown head. Aroma is very malty and full of chocolate. This brew is big on flavor. A big choco smack right in the beginning and the flavor fades to a malty coffee flavor on the finish. Damn fine brew and something i have been on a mission to try for quite some time!

well I finally got to try this beer, batch from 2006 so it got some mellowness to it, oh and it was good. lucky me. pours a black with mild tan head. my initial response was that it reminded me of Darklord, anyway, roasted mocha aroma, great front to finish. mocha hides to the end, very good and balanced.

On Tap @ Foothills. Smooth and luscious on the tongue- erotic as the name implies. This is damn delicious and a true treat for stout/chocolate lovers. Foothills Brewery uped their game in a big way with this one. Keep íem coming.

Black chocolate pour with a huge thick creamy tan-brown head. It has an immediate coating of lacing when you move the glass. Smells of rich malt and bitter sweet dark chocolate. Not at all similar to that chocolate donut beer generic smell at all. Flavor is rich and is full of that great dark bitter chocolate. I can actually taste and savor the chocolate and it isnít generic or chemical tasting at all. Flavor is full of real cocoa. Best presence of chocolate in a beer yet, and it isnít overdone at all. Nice thick palate and ideal weight and smoothness. Mouthfeel gets thicker as you drink it. Very creamy and drinkable. This is the least alcohol Iíve tasted in an Imperial Stout in a long time. The alcohol is so well balanced and masked. Overall, I canít wait to have another! Best Valentineís Day beer ever!

Rating #300. Big thanks to The Real Bastard. Pours an awesome opaque dark brown with a beautiful pancake colored head, once coaxed a bit. Nose is, of course, chocolate, espresso and leather. Not just chocolate, but a Seeís chocolate hard sucker. Flavor is really complex with a plum like sweetness, dry, smokey maltiness, subtle bitterness of coffee, and semi sweetness of dark chocolate. This was truly an experience worth hunting down.

I was very surprised that this beers label description is almost perfectly accurate and that all aroma and flavours were detected. Very dark black with some hint of brown, a very large brown head formed after a short delay but it didnít stick around for too long. Mild chocolate aroma with some fruit and a bit of astringent coffee. The palate was really nice and thick without being chewy. lots of chocolate up front with some dark malts, molasses, lots of fruit, and a tad bit of coffee. A little bitter ending that balances this out nicely. Never too sweet or over the top, just well made, balanced, and good tasting.

Rating #1600 well hell yeah! A black appearance with a moderate tan head. The aroma consists of coffee, chocolate, licorice, dark fruit, and charcoal. This is a very rich beer with a lot of chocolate showing through. Some coffee and licorice linger in the background. This reminds of Expedition in some ways. The alcohol is hidden quite well. The aftertaste is a mixture of bitter and sweet. This beer lives up to the hype. Great stuff!
