COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A well-structured Czech style pilsner. TORCH is strong in alcohol with a rich, full finish. Good mouth feel and well-balanced Czech Saaz hops ensure that TORCH is not your typical pilsner. Color: 5 Lovibond;IBU:35

Draft at brewpup. Flavor was of sweet malt and some earthy/citrus hoppiness. Hit the style pretty well. Enjoyed the amount of hops present.

draft. golden yellow with a frothy head and sticky lacing. light grassy hop aroma. smooth light mouthfeel with light hoppy citrus and a refreshing slighlty sour crisp finish. very little dry bitterness but enough to keep this refreshing.

On tap at the brewery. Surprising level of hops for a pilsner, but it retains a nice clean graininess.

Fruity tastes overwhelm the tounge with this one making it taste like a ’little beligian’ or something along those lines. Too much fruit for me.

Refreshing hop aroma. Sweetness means the malt is there, as it should be. Very smooth with some hop bitterness. Very drinkable and well-balanced. Really like this pilsner.

Draught during my NC brew tour. Pours light gold with a small white head. thin, corny sweet, papery nose. The flavor has some light semi-fruity sweetness with a low level of nipping hops and a finish of cedar. There’s a slight astringency throughout. This isn’t my ideal fare.

Sampled from a growler thanks to boboski on 7/2/06: Pours a clear pale golden with a nicely-lacing thin white head. Has a good, fresh Saaz hoppy aroma with a pale malty sweetness. Body is smooth, lightly toasty and well-hopped. Very authentic, fresh and drinkable. One of the best pilsners I’ve had.

Light golden pour, with initial foam, but no retentive head nor lace. Faint sour grains to the nose. Light citrus, lemon zest and dark grains with a bitter finish. This does have a substantial mouthfeel to it, not watery or too thin. Decent brew.

Clear golden color, nice efferrvescence, a good inch and a half of acid white foam. Good head retention and a little bit of lacing. Mild grassy hop aroma. A mild pilsner, but quite drinkable. A drier grainy malt flavor is complimented by a grassy spicy hopping. Tastes very fresh and authentic, though definately on the mild side. Light body, thirst quenching. But ultimately a bit too mild for my preferences.

Slightly floral, slightly fruity malt aroma. Very cool tap handle, but standard gold brew. There were a few off flavors in the mix - some malt liquorish notes, but they were minor and generally it was a smooth ride. No major flaws to the beer. Medium body. On tap, Mellow Mushroom, Blowing Rock, NC.
