COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Copperhead Ale is a copper colored German-style Altbier, with a light, malty sweetness and a pronounced hop flavor. Alt is the German word for old, referring to the older style of ale brewing. Altbier is Germany’s pale ale. Copperhead Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale and it has a medium body. It has hints of maltiness and hoppiness in its aroma, with a definite hop flavor and a medium hop bitterness. Altbier is predominately brewed in the northern part of Germany, especially Dusseldorf and gets its "sweet roast" flavor and copper color from caramunich malts.

Has the potential to be a decent light ale - decent head. Metallic taste screws it all up though. Aftertaste makes me think that someone threw a handful of mothballs in with this beer. Another beer club disaster.

Smells sweet and nutty with some sulfur notes. Is a hazy amber with a minimal head. Tastes sweet and smokey with a metallic finish. Also, watery. Not so hot.

malty and mild not much in the way of character to this beer. Some hops where present they seemed to be in a very watery background. Appearnce was avrage at best amber body and thin white head.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2005 This pours a nice clear copper color with only the slightest of heads. The aroma is mildly tasted malt with hints of hops. A creamy, slighty sweetish and fruity mouthfeel with a bit of hoppish tartness to the finish. This is a pretty decent American alt. I’d keep some in the ’fridge if it was on store shelves here.

Small offwhite head, short lived, minimal lace. Clear copper/orange hued brew. Light malt, lightly sour nose. Light/medium body. Light maltiness with a hint of fruit. Dry somewhat astringent finish.

An average amber ale that is sweet and malty but somewhat boring. A good session ale to pair with a burger or pizza.

Another beer I knew nothing about when sampled. I thought it was an APA, there was no description of the beer on the bottle’s label. I’ll agree with the concensus here, Copperhead is a balanced session beer that would go well with pub food.

Pours dark gold/straw with medium head. Aroma of malt, hops, toffee, and cognac. Tastes malty, with a toffee, scotch finish.

It is a warm amber. It looks appealing. It tastes like nothing. Not worth buying.
