Dark and rich with a big beer taste, Doppelbock is an exceptionally smooth, full-bodied dark lager with a bold character that is sure to brighten your spirits. Doppelbock is brewed with the finest, all natural ingredients and strict adherence to the Reinheitsgebot, the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.

Pours a dark caramel with a rapidly fading head. The aroma is sweet and flavorful. The taste is pretty rich and complex. Nothing too over the top but fairly well balanced. It’s medium-full bodied but quite drinkable at 8%. Not bad!

To sour and then sweet. Long bitter finish, i do not like that. I just taking a note to remember a no repeat one.

Keg, The Rake, Southwark, 04/04/12. Mahogany with copper tints and a slim beige top. Aroma has some synthetic, sweetened fruit lambic (kriek). Sweet and Tunes-accented; sweet raisin, synthetic cherry, malt loaf; milk choc, honey-dripped fig. Sickly without enough malt seriousness. Too much of a ladybeer for me.

Pours a moderate brown color with a thin head and not too much in the way of lacing. The nose carries some light caramel malt and a bit of bread. Quite tame. The flavor is really quite blend with none of the deep maltiness I expect from a good doppelbock. Medium body with adequate carbonation. Nothing special here.

Excellent. Full of malty sweetness. Just the right amount of carbonation. Definitely recommended.

Draft at Ram’s Head in Annapolis. Nearly opaque body with little head. Cloyingly sweet, in a good way, with no hops. A bit on the thin side but still tasty.

Dark brown in color with a tannish head. Malty with a caramel like flavor that is just a touch sweet. Full bodied with a nice finish. Very nice.
