Commercial Description:
Drop anchor this Spring with our Dunkel style weizenbock. This refreshing hybrid ale is brewed with dark roasted malts and German wheat. It has a warm finish followed by signature hints of banana and clove. Take a sip, close your eyes, and you can almost feel the crisp Spring breeze blowing off the bar. Welcome aboard!

Cloudy brown body with minimal head. Aroma is sweet, banana, clove, light wheat. Taste is medium sweet, banana, clove, finishing medium alcohol. Medium-full body.

12oz bottle. Basically a spot on weizenbock... huge doughy banana and clove in the nose, sugary, starchy, bready, with a well developed nose. Chewy, moderately thick texture, frothy as well, with the banana and clove done perfectly, not that it’s a hard style to nail. Nice and spicy, not overy done, and sweet but also not too much so.

Draft. Poured a cloudy brown color with a thin off white head. Attractive aroma of banana and clove. The flavor was similar, but there was also some shoe leather, subdued roasted nuts, and a hint of raw alcohol.

Super hazy ruby glowing brown coloured body with almost white/yellow highlights because of the haze. In addition, tons of chunky large particles at the bottom make for a crazy look. Aroma of bananas, clove, anise, liquorice, canned corn and yes - wheat and yeast. Full-bodied; Strong yeastie flavour with wheat, bananas and cloves most noticeable. Aftertaste is mellow and wheatie, showing some alcohol and a plentiful amount of sugars. Overall, a pretty good weizenbock, not complex near the end, but the flavour shows well. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 03-May-2008 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 05-July-2008.

I am a sucker for this style. This was rich, with clove and banana and strawberry and a great mix of barley malts. Just wonderful, though a rather ugly beer--murky rather than yeast-hazed. Very fine.
