Statman (3), Maryland, USA does not count Jun 27, 2008 This Weizenbock is one of the best in the Baltimore area since DeGroen’s versionin the 90’s. I would put this up against Aventinus from Germany and prefer it over Clipper City’s Hang Ten and Victory’s Moonglow Weizenbock. GvStraaten (5), Baltimore, Maryland, USA does not count Mar 26, 2008 Great Weizenbock. The catchy name and package originally drew me in. I’ve also had this on draught at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis. Both are good. Pours thick murky cloudy brown. Not the prettiest beer....but the taste is great. Clove & banana flavors abound with a slight bitterness. The package art is great and very Annapolitan. Only negatives are it’s appearance and drinkability. urbnhautebourg (933), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Mar 10, 2003 I am a sucker for this style. This was rich, with clove and banana and strawberry and a great mix of barley malts. Just wonderful, though a rather ugly beer--murky rather than yeast-hazed. Very fine. acrdz (4297), Boulder, Colorado, USA Mar 13, 2008 12oz bottle. Basically a spot on weizenbock... huge doughy banana and clove in the nose, sugary, starchy, bready, with a well developed nose. Chewy, moderately thick texture, frothy as well, with the banana and clove done perfectly, not that it’s a hard style to nail. Nice and spicy, not overy done, and sweet but also not too much so. General_Gao (2509), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Apr 25, 2008 Draft. Poured a cloudy brown color with a thin off white head. Attractive aroma of banana and clove. The flavor was similar, but there was also some shoe leather, subdued roasted nuts, and a hint of raw alcohol.
