6/12/11 bottle from village in emmittsburg
Hazy hefe color 3/5
A= sweet wheat, sweaty yeast and orange. Not quite hefe aromas. 4/10
Flavor is a bland super sweet atypical hefe. No yeast, spice, banana... Stale sweet wet grain... Below bad 3/100
How do you make a cloying wheat?

Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice cloudy yellow-grain color with a white head and a bit of lacing after the two-finger head settles down. Good aromas of grain, citrus, banana, and some spice. Hints of bubblegum. The taste is a bit of grain with a lot of yeast notes. Good creamy mouthfeel with very nice drinkability. The finest I’ve had from Fordham.

Bottle... Light golden orange color, small head. Aroma of sweet banana. Taste is sweet banana as well, a little to sweet in my opinion. Not bad though. Lots of carbonation. Overall I have had better hefe’s

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cybercat (1909) - Georgia, USA - OCT 16, 2009
Pours a rather typical clear pale yellow, but it does have a fairly thick and fluffy white head. Strong aroma is wheaty and yeasty and has a slight hint of citrus. Flavor is smooth and wheaty with a touch of lemon, not complex but perfect for bringing a ray of sunshine into a gloomy day. Texture is rich and smooth and just a little fizzy.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 eaglefan538 (2735) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - SEP 15, 2009
Poured from the bottle at the UD game. The aroma was fairly typical, some bananas and fruity esters with some cloves (no phenolic complexity, though). The flavor followed, some straw in there, as well as some salty elements. The body was somewhat on the lighter side for the style, the appearance not big and bold, though. An ok HW.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ChainGangGuy (3837) - Canton, Georgia, USA - SEP 9, 2009
Appearance: Pours out a hazed, burnished gold body with a brief, white head.
Smell: Nose of tangy wheat malt with a hint of wheat chaff and the obligatory notes of bananas, cloves, and citrus.
Taste: Sweet, tangy malted wheat as well as some crisp barley. The sweet malts step aside for tastes of banana, lemon, and light clove. Minimal hop presence with no more than a small hint of bitterness. One last touch of wheat on the semi-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Creamyish mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Take it or leave it. NWW is by no means the best hefeweizen around, but it gets the job done, I suppose.
