2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jimmie65 (305) - Texas, USA - FEB 1, 2013Orange-amber pour. Aroma is caramel and fruit. A little bitter, too much sweet. Boring.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BMMillsy (681) - Florida, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Beer of thr month club twist off bottle. Pours deep amber with small white head. Smells like a cheap sweet amber ale. Flavor is sweet brown sugar with a bit of fruit and a dirty finish. Finished a bit better as I go through it. Medium light mouthfeel. Easy going for 8%. Not a terrible beer, but not getting much scotch ale from this. Taste is similar to a Killians with more body.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 samsmith33 (187) - - FEB 4, 2013
Very light fruit, barley. Dark but clear reddish brown color. A touch of woodyness. Light carbonation. Very tame for a scotch ale. Not bad.

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of tart fruits, caramel, banana, earthy notes. The taste is similar, tart stone fruits, caramel malts. earthy hops. Medium bodied.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 stangger (571) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 29, 2012
12oz bottle via beer of the month. Light brown. Malty, caramel aroma. Very simple, caramel malt base with slight bitterness. Just a hint of alcohol. Light-bodied. Barely qualifies as a scotch ale.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 JDBaker11058 (922) - Maryland, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Appearance: medium amber, one-finger tan head. Aroma: caramel, toffee, hint of smoke. Taste: caramel, brown sugar, bit of dark fruits. Finish: <b/> slightly sweet, smooth, lightly carbonated. Notes: Decent scotch ale. Not great, but not horrible. I don’t get the low rating.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 desurfer (1173) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - JAN 10, 2012
Draft at Ram’s Head in Annapolis. Rich peaty malts with a mild roasty hop character afterwards. Good sipper on a cold winter night.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 strongpieman (1156) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - JAN 27, 2011
Bottle. Copper to light brown color, clear. Almost no head, just wisps of white foam. Aroma is a very pleasant malt with hint of smokiness & peat. Full body, soft carbonation, smooth. Warming beer... good all around.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 DavoleBomb (1389) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 12, 2011
Poured into a snifter.
4.0 A: Rich amber hues for color. Two fingers of thick, frothy head with average retention and plenty of lacing.
3.5 S: Very malty. Caramel, toffee, and a touch of spice.
3.0 T: Caramel comes through again, but also some unpleasantries. It’s really boozy and has a medicinal like quality to it. A little bit of herbal hop flavor.
3.0 M: Good carbonation but a little underbodied. Very smooth however.
3.5 D: Not bad, but nothing I’d want again.
