COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tavern Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale. It is a medium to full-bodied beer with a hoppy aroma. Tavern Ale is served unfiltered resulting in a hazy or cloudy appearance. It has a full malt finish with a well rounded bitterness. Tavern Ale is an American Pale Ale because of the large amounts of American hops which lends a distinct, almost citrusy flavor to the beer. Therefore, our Tavern Ales is quite different from the "spicy" or "herby" flavor of European hops.

dark clear amber, latte foam, quickly settles, decent tho minimalist lacing...smells of sweet malt with just a hint of hops. i almost think i am imagining them. taste is interesting, perhaps metallic...the sweetness is balanced by some hoppy bitterness and something ’sour’ (in that appreciable, aprihop sour-sense)...metallic sense almost gone on a second sip while the sourness asserts just a bit. would think this mediocre-plus if the sweetness was allowed to reign.

On tap: Pours a transparent deep bronze amber with a small, clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of crisp citrusy hops and a touch of sweet pale malt. Body starts with decent fullness for the style and a light malty sweetness well-balanced with resiny flavor hops before a drier, smooth finish. A pretty good and very drinkable APA.

Hardly any noticeable aroma. The appearance when poured is a beautiful sort of amber with a large head that subsides after not too long. The flavour is malty, but the finish is an excessive bitterness reminiscent of burnt almond husks. This might be an acquired taste, yet still clearly this beer’s biggest obstacle.

On tap at BWI airport. Reddish pour with a nice head. Woodsy malt flavor with some cascade citrus hop notes. A bit astringent as I remember but it went down smooth enough. Average.

Bottle. Maroon color, small beige head. Nose brings out nice citrusy Cascade hops notes with lots of malt. The flavor’s more on the malty side, but certainly not overpowering. A nice, decently balanced pale ale. Good session beer with plenty of flavor.

This American Pale Ale pours an orange copper color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel malt and citrus and piney hops. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are piney and grapefruity. Nicely balanced, slightly hop forward APA. It is almost IPA like in its hopiness. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is somewhat bitter.
