Tavern Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale. It is a medium to full-bodied beer with a hoppy aroma. Tavern Ale is served unfiltered resulting in a hazy or cloudy appearance. It has a full malt finish with a well rounded bitterness. Tavern Ale is an American Pale Ale because of the large amounts of American hops which lends a distinct, almost citrusy flavor to the beer. Therefore, our Tavern Ales is quite different from the "spicy" or "herby" flavor of European hops.

355mL. Pour is a clear amber generating a massive, large bubbled, ice cream scoop, yellow head. Excellent retention. Lacing looks soapy and weak rather than sheety and full. Nose is really off- no infection but heavy trash and metals. Lots of old character- definitely past its prime. Taste is dishwater and soap to the max finishing with metals and heavy iron and copper. Really just disgusting. Drainpour.

On tap at Ramís Head in Annapolis. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a bit of white head. Aroma is off, with some nasty cereal and old malt. Flavor has bitter malt and slightly soapy citrus. Finish is extremely bitter, but that helps hide the other (unpleasant) flavors.
