COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tavern Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale. It is a medium to full-bodied beer with a hoppy aroma. Tavern Ale is served unfiltered resulting in a hazy or cloudy appearance. It has a full malt finish with a well rounded bitterness. Tavern Ale is an American Pale Ale because of the large amounts of American hops which lends a distinct, almost citrusy flavor to the beer. Therefore, our Tavern Ales is quite different from the "spicy" or "herby" flavor of European hops.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a light amber with a decent head. The nose has a little bit of fruit salad - maybe peaches and pineapple. The taste has more of the same with a bit of citrus zing on the finish. The palate is light to medium bodied and textured with a clean refreshing finish. Overall, a nice balanced pale ale.

355ml bottle, bbe 16/04/13. Hazy amber, thick white head. Aroma is grassy, yeasty and has caramel malt and raisin as well. Flavor has citrus, caramel, hops. Hoppy and bitter finish. Despite being quite old, it doesn’t really matter that much, instead it as some nice barley wine wibes. Medium bodied.

Keg served chilled at Pivni, shared with Finn. Decent, off-white head resting over a dark apricot coloured body. Floral hoppy nose added by notes of caramel sweetness. Taste is a mix of pumpkin and honey followed by a fruit bitter ending. Medium bodied. Pleasant (York, 26.01.2013).

Hazy orange - amber beer, decent cream coloured head. Light palate with prickly carbonation. Creamy malt, trace of caramel. Balanced with pretty bitter hop that is a touch metallic. Semi dry finish with a robust bitter linger. Okay but somewhat unrefined.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler missing the front label and with a bottle date of 12/23/11, despite being purchased from a store two days ago which I know hasn’t had it since 2011. Somebody dropped the ball here. Anyway, pours a hazy copper color with lots of particulate matter. Medium sized creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malts and earthy hops. The taste is bitter vegetal hops, a bit of citrus, toasted malts. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a sweet aroma of hops and malts. Candy like.hops give way to a nice malt backbone. Not bad.
