Hazy golden yellow body, moderate sized white frothy head, solid lacing. Both the nose and flavor are lightly musty, with citric fruits, oaky, floral notes. Notably, the red wine barrel provides delicate vinous fruits and tannins. Meshes well with the funky saison base. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation, refreshing finish.

Draft at brewpub. Pours a semi clear gold with a thin head. Aroma is a nice mix of citrus, slight funk, and some sweetness. Does a nice job balancing between the sourness and a sweet malt base. Refreshing, hides the alcohol well, and all around a nice beer.

Pours a hazy orange with a medium white head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has nice funk, stonefruits, oak, vanilla, and wine notes. Flavor has light funk and tart fruit, rindy grapefruit, vanilla, leathery spice, light winey notes...more like white wine...and lots of oak. Mouthfeel is light/medium and lively with a tart/fruity and oaky dry finish.

My trip to Forest and Main was excellent, and this beer was by far the highlight, and perhaps the best wild ale/sour ale I have ever quaffed. The key here was in the silky velvety smoothness. The pour was turbid deep gold with clingy white head. The nose was tart sour mashy fruit, funky yeast, lemony hops, dry florals. The flavor was tart and fruity, with mid-palate hopcitrus, dry peppery florals, and citrus. The complexity in this one was stunning, and the smoothness was exemplary. You have to taste this one to understand what I’m talking about.

Hazy dark golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of hay, citrus, grass, vanilla, wood, brett, and red wine. Taste of wood, toast, light vanilla, citrus, some harsh grains, red wine, and a sour finish.
