Bottle (Apr 2015 bottling). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of sour apple, lemon zest, oak, with light notes of celery, lavender, butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic, lightly astringent. A neat beer that’s close to being really good....the nose is a mix of nice things and a few fleeting unpleasant things, but the nice stuff mostly wins. Nice flavor balance too. Doesn’t rock me, but it’s pretty solid.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2015 500ml bottle April 2015 batch. Hazy amber-pink-gold body with a thin white head. Aroma is wine barrel essence / fruitiness, oak, phenols, dog hair, alcohol(?), acetone(?), flowers, wild yeast, stewed peach. Medium bodied, lightly sweet, highly acidic, tart, prickly, mildly fruity / estery (peach / nectarine), tannic. Carbonation is fluffy and soft but the sharp acidity in the mouth seems overdone. It’s not bad for wine barrel Belgian-ish beer, though doesn’t have a lot of depth, and acidic beer doesn’t go far for me these days.

Pours a deep golden color with three fingers of white foam. Nose is vinous with layers of toasted almonds, tart stonefruit, sorrel, beeswax, rustic grain. Palate follows with nice vinous acidity, round grainy fieldgrass, wet hay, soft honey sweetness on the backend, oak tannins. Tasty.

5 Kay, 7.5 Kay, 10 Kay tasting. Thanks to Colin. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Mild bretty savoury vibe. Bitterish peel and floralness. Light dry finish. Quite bitter for a saison but all right.

Shared with Dan at home. Pours a light amber with small head in snifters. The aroma is light tart fruits (white grapes, pears, green apples), grass, hay, slight funkiness, light cheese aromas. The taste is delicious with the tart fruits mentioned in the aroma, some mild white pepper and other spices, hay, cheese, and dust. Somewhat dry finish, well carbed, light body. Was really blown away by this.

Bottle at the 5K, 7.5K & 10K tasting, thanks to Colin. It pours hazy orange-amber with a thick white head. The nose is fresh, funky, dough, orange rind, sherbet, light spice, some acidity and vinous notes. The taste is crisp, doughy, earth, straw, sour yoghurt, spice, orange, tangerine, winey stuff and toasty grain. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Well rounded and easy-going.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2014 Bottle shared in London - thanks to C-bird. Pours unclear gold with a creamy, off-white head. Pleasant lemony aroma with dry wood, zest, white grape. Light sweet flavor with some gummy white grapes, golden raisins, slight grassy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nice ending, clean and refreshing, some pithy lemon, nice grassy bitterness. Very nice overall.
