On tap at Forest & Main last weekend. Fairly dark. Nose brings dark fruits, caramel, and bread. Flavor is fairly sweet with background dark fruits and a bit of caramel. Light booze to the finish. Smooth overall.

GABF 2013. Pours a murky reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Papery, dark fruity, fig, plum, caramel, light chocolate aroma. A fair amount of oxidation. Cardboard, slightly bready, caramel, toffee, plum, grape flavor. Kind of disappointing.

Draft @ brewery. Cola brown pour with a thin head. Taste is amazing. Molasses, figs, dark fruit flavors meld perfectly. Real English character to it. Slightly milky/creamy flavor. Really good. Put it in a barrel!

On tap at F&M. Pours dark ruby with light tannish head. Figs, plums, caramel, cough drop. Sweet and low bitterness. Full, smooth body. Surprisingly good. Seemed more like a Belgian Dubbel to me than a barley wine.

Red brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of tons of dark fruits, caramel malts, vanilla, and light alcohol. Taste of more dark fruits, maybe dried fruits, raisins, caramel, fruity finish, some alcohol. Really nice, and would probably age great too.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2013 Dark brown with some chestnut highlights, medium to thin tan head, spotty lacing. Nose is a clean, moderately sweet caramel and dark fruits. Flavor isn’t overly rich, but exhibits a nice range of sweet dark fruit malts and caramel. Medium to full bodied, silky smooth carbonation from cask, nice clean finish.
