3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 13, 2007
(Bottled) Very hazy reddish amber with a tight, medium head. Smoothly malty and spicy-herby aroma. Sweetish, strangely but pleasantly herby flavor with very smooth maltiness. Medium to full-bodied, silky-smooth palate. A very pleasant, extremely balanced and totally enjoyable brew.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 madsberg (7570) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2007
Draught. Dark golden coloured. Unclear. Dense white head. Sweet and soapy aroma. Notes of perfume and spice. Is very different from the other beers I’ve tried today. Flavour is sweet and yeasty and citric. Spices and fruits notable. Is medium bodied. Quite dry. Has an acidic and grapy end with some spicy notes. Very refreshing beer.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 SHIG (2706) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAR 4, 2007

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 18, 2007
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a huge fluffy orange head. The aroma is quite strong with strong notes of citrus, medium notes of yeast and oranges, and lighter notes of wheat. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of oranges and lemon - which gives it an acidic edge, that makes it very refreshing, towards the end a spicy touch comes along with notes of cloves and nutmeg. The body is a bit thin especially considering the 7.5% ABV.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - OCT 29, 2006
Golden color, with the most classic and beautiful of the creamy Belgian heads. The aroma is peculiar, with some herbs (rosemary) to join the malt and coriander. Medium body structure, malt taste, softer than expected, and quite refreshing for a Belgian ale; very light herbs here as well and very light lemon peel. Consistent final. A solid blond strong Belgian ale, with a touch of originality.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 17, 2006
On draught at Brasserie Erasmus, Brugge. Cloudy orangey amber with a small, lacing head. Overpowering pine aroma. Sweet caramel flavours have no chance to match the strong pine flavours. Medium body. I like the idea- plus for originality, but I don’t think it is a beer that is going to be part of my staple fare.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 4, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2009 A Mes rate: Tap at the Delirium Cafe. Wow. Forest beer! Crazy stuff this is. Like a tripel with herbs. Dark blonde colour. Very very herbacious aroma. Incredible pine notes in the nose. As soon as the tap was turned on I could smell it from the other side of the bar. Soapy finish. Just failing to see what all the fuss is about. Apart from the novelty pine character its nothing better than standard.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DenverLogan (422) - MileHi, Colorado, USA - JUN 2, 2006
Fun pine - cinnamon aroma and flavor. Blond - gold color; white head. Big spruce and other herbs flavor with lovely sweetness - big carbonation. Best drunk fresh for spruce - pine - juiniper aromas! Beer made for three friends - one is a youth hostel cook and the other two work in a prison. Had at brewery May 30.
