Brewed as a replacement for our long serving house APA ’Base Isolator’, Base Jumper has the same malt profile and ABV, but made with a barrage of different hops (US Simcoe, US Cascade, US Centenial, NZ Orbit, NZ Motueka).

[8409-20160530] Tap. Fragrant floral toffee aroma. Clear, orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and some lacing. Bitter gravelly citrus bread and toasted bitter grains flavour. Medium body. Good, odd at first. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

2016-05-30. Crisp dark yellow body small beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma of green veg and mushy peas. Flavour is very green with a lot of vegetation, green leafy hops and mushy peas. Average to light bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ Very much not to my tastes. 5/3/5/3/10 On tap at Fork and Brewer, Wellington, NZ.

A nice floral aroma with great bitterness that lasts on the palate. Nice long lasting bitterness.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2015 Tropical aroma in an amber pour. Hop forward balance with a smooth restrained finish. An excellent complementary brew to their similarly tasty Base Isolator.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Angry hop aromas - spices, resin, gum and spruce needles. Desserty malt evident as well. The flavours are an almost carbon copy of the aroma - all APA and angry. Tasty stuff and well within style. We’re lucky to have such a plethora of beautifully done beers in this country.

On tap at the F&B in late Dec. 2013. Grassy, fruity, weedy, herbal with the NZ (hop) twist on this American style showing. Appropriately hoppy with a well set level of balancing malts and only mildly bitter, even in the lingering, hoppy aftertaste. Just a hint of dank and sour from, I think, the NZ hops. Feel: medium body and carbonation.
