COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Föroya Bjór Black Sheep premium dark lager is an excellent beer with a great taste, brewed by Föroya Bjór, a Faroese family owned brewery founded in 1888. The Black Sheep from Föroya Bjór is a beer of th very best quality. The islanders may have a fishy economy but the Faroese beer is second to none. The brewery has always had a ram in its logo.

Thanks to a work colleague Jimmy. My first ever beer from the Faroe Islands. Appearance: Ruby red, small off white head. Aroma: corn, plastic, grass, artificial strawberry. Flavour: plastic, rubber, some strawberry cool-pop, caramel, band aid. Not good.

courtesy of Philipp and Thomas - clear red-amber beer with a little foam left; shy earthy and caramelish aroma; medium-bodied, gentle bitterness and more long earthy notes; fairly spicy - chaotic

330ml bottle (Kultura, Kaunas)
Pure walnut aroma. Rich red, small loose head. Plenty of walnut in the taste, but nowhere near the aroma’s levels. Some caramel from the malts. Finish has a very nutty finish, some kind of acrid bitter metallic hops. But not unpleasnt. I like the nuts, they’re quite quriky. Shame it’s a bit harsh and acrid.

330ml bottle. Light chestnut color. Small size, white head, stays. Sweet, metallic, some sort of berries in aroma. Caramel, grainy, sweet taste. Buttery caramel in aftertaste. Thin body. Bit dull and boring.

humlelala (1010) - DENMARK - JUN 17, 2014
(on tap @ Café Natur, Tórshavn) Pours a clear amber with little, off-white head. Some lace. Aroma is grainy with notes of brewers’ cereal, ascorbic conservation agents, molasses and some hints of leafy hops. Watery texture, soft carbonation, medium body and a slightly metallic finish. Flavour is moderately sweet with a little compensating bitterness toward the finish.

Clear copper brown. Low offwhite head. Sugary malt nose. If not thin, light in the mouth. Light harshly sweet malt flavor with perfumey fruit tones. A vague earthy bitterness in the backbone. Watery and sugary caramel finish. [Shared bottle at larsga’s, 20.08.13]

Overraskende god i 2. tår!

Bottle, shared with Jimthechap. There’s little to say about a beer that is as forgetful as some dark lager that does not even look dark. The style is amber lager, I guess, and it is always a disappointement when you buy a bottle of dark beers. This was sweet, malty, nearly cloying if it was not diluted in generous quantities of water. These Faroese have nothing to lose against the Germans when it comes to brewing dark lagers....
