Föroya Bjór Black Sheep premium dark lager is an excellent beer with a great taste, brewed by Föroya Bjór, a Faroese family owned brewery founded in 1888. The Black Sheep from Föroya Bjór is a beer of th very best quality. The islanders may have a fishy economy but the Faroese beer is second to none. The brewery has always had a ram in its logo.

A bottle from Martin’s fairwell shindig. Didn’t make the journey with him to Berlin. Crumbs from the captains table. A clear Brown beer with a short White-ish head. A bit of burnt malt, caramel to it but ultimately light on flavour crystals. Not so bad.

Sampled from a bottle at the Copenhagen Beer Festival. Chestnut colour with a tan head. Sweetish aroma, and a taste dominated by caramel and burnt toffee. Some hints of blackcurrant. Good bittering hops giving a good, long finish. A little sweet, but quite drinkable.

Bottle from a Vínbúdin in Reykjavik. Pours mahogany with a thin cream head. Fusty metallic malt aroma. The taste is quite sweet with treacle, tar, liquorice. There’s something a bit cloying about it. Something of a chore.

Qute strong and very thick. Well brewed and nice foam. Easy to enjoy and has to be careful with it.

330ml bottle in my hotel room: Berlin 21st Jan 2016. Bought from the fantastic Ambrosetti beer shop. Bright Amber body with a wispy head. Malty, sweet and alcoholic in nature. Warming and plaesing with enough going on in the mouth to keep me interested. I liked it.
