Not a powerful stout like eg. Limfjord. But very nice and drinkable. I like the slight bitterness.

courtesy of Philipp and Thomas - black beer with a little foam left; aroma of black chocolate, roasted and with notes of vanilla and corn; medium-bodied, light sweetness; grainy and short finish

Very interesting stout. Not great looking, with a thin appearance of Cola. The aromas are raisins, honey, roasts and a touch of sweet sherry. Great combo on the flavour, with plenty of liquorice, chocolates, a roasted touch, burnt, but not too bitter, cranberry tartness and apple juice sweetness. Finish is a bit full of sherry. The palate is rather thin for a stout, but this is really nice beer.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy very dark copper brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of coffee beans, malt, and caramel. Roasty and bitter flavour of coffee beans, with faint notes of malt, caramel and nothing. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Rather thin body despite unnaturally high carbonation. Drinkable as just beer but really far from anything decent as stout.

Douberd (1717) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2013
Bottle, 330 ml. Poured into a snifter at home, ABV 5.8%. New country tick. Very dark brown colour on the body, with a good sized beige head, thick, with okay retention, leaving medium lacing around the glass. Lots of roasted malts on the aroma with notes of coffee, Taste has also lots of roasted malts. Cold coffee from the beginning, the coffee flavour becomes more intense on the finish and on the aftertaste, with nice bitterness. A little bit metallic at first but nothing to ruin the experience. On the body is thin, with good carbonation. Not very dry palate. Overall a quite good stout.

Bottle from Voldby. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of malt with hints of caramel and coffee. Hoppy taste with notes of coffee, licorice, chocolate. Flat carbonation. A bit watery. Sweetish malty finish.

Bottle 0.33l at home. Best Before 27.1.2014. Colour is black with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Hints of coffee and chocolate, some fruits, roasted malts and dryness. Well, easy to drink but quite light.

33cl bottle picked up at Rudat in Dortmund. It pours with a clear mahogany body that supports a tan head. The aroma is full of odd mineral notes, molasses, apples and thin watered down chocolate. The taste comes across thin and mineral like where light sweet molasses and chocolate gently surface just as apple like ester do as well. Hmm.

Thanks to erzengel for the bottle! Pours dark brown with orange highlights and a tan head. Smell is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, nuts. Taste is similar with a dry roasty finish. Light in body and a tick less than average carbonation level. Pretty nice stuff.

Ins Glas ergie▀t sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch r÷stmalzig, Kaffee, bitter. Geschmack leicht r÷stmalzig, bitter, leicht schokoladig, erdig.
