Bottle. Thx Papsoe. Clear, mahogany body with an off-white head. Weak nose with coffee and burnt malt. Too weak and sweet I think. The same goes for the flavor, where there’s a little maltyness as well. Medium body and a coffee-ish finish with some malt and grains. Somewhat pleasant, but not as a porter. (070510)

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, reddish brown with a beige head. Somewhat caramelish aroma. Medium body, a whiff of caramel and a dry finish with a very subdued bitterness. Not exactly a grand beer. 100507

This so called porter is brown/black with a modest head. The aroma is sourish and malty. The flavour has notes of roasted malt and weak notes of licorice. It’s a very thin-bodied beer.

faroeviking (10293) - FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 20, 2006
Dark reddish colour. Not as strong in flavour as a normal baltic porter style. Due to Faroese al. laws it it "only" on 5,8% alc. by vol. A good some what mild porter. Unfortunately no longer brewed.

Roasted malt, raisin and blackcurrant in the aroma and flavor. Rather thin, upcoming tartness. Likeable.

JorisPPattyn (7820) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 4, 2006
Dark brown with a carmosine red shine; very small off-white head, gone in seconds. Beautiful nose of Islay malt, thinned of course, black cardemom husks, bit bready. Sweet, blackberries flavour, quite malty, but no longer whisky malt (bouhouhou); drier ending, again with a bit of cardemom husk flavour. Generally quite sweet. Rather light MF, just a bit grist slickness, touch oily. I thought I’d hit gold sniffing this one. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t follow. Still, finding Fär Oer porter in the heart of Brussels made it more than worthwhile!

MoritzF (8402) - Bochum, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2006
(bottle) Clear and dark amber colour with a small tanned creamy head. Aroma of toasted malt with caramel. Sweet toastmalty taste with dried prunes, nuts and caramel. Moderately bitter, slightly roasted finish with notes of cacao. A bit slim but drinkable Porter.
