Bottle purchsed at Vnbin, Iceland and kindly brought to London by Icelandic friends. Faroe Islands becomes for me country #128. Beer poured a deep amber colour with a small off-white and lasting head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel and prune. Rather sweet with moderate bitterness. Roasted bitterness to finish.

33 cl bottle@home iin Trappist glass@approx 5 degrees C (too cold). Pours clear dark brown with medium offwhite head with sufficient retention. Subdued malty aroma with a little fruitiness. Well balanced but somewhat sweet taste with caramel malt in the foreground and a little spice from the hops. Medium body with a good mouthfeel. Short earthy but pleasant aftertaste. Nothing special, but a decent brew in good balance which gets better as it warms up a little.

It smells pleasantly of both malt and caramel. The taste is also characterized most of just malt and caramel. I may think that it has a little too much water, but fortunately not as it seems destructive to the taste. Aftertaste is reasonably persistent and hop bitterness is well adapted. It has no other special characteristics which should be highlighted. There is no question of bad beer, but there is still some way to go before I call it very delicious.
