On draft at the biergarten. Pour was chestnut brown with the very edges showing a hint of ruby. The aroma was bright, fruity, herbal, caramel, and nuts. The flavor followed with some chocolate roasty malts gently underneath. A touch of honey may nit be a bad descriptor either. A neat dunkel, even if the style is often unremarkable. Cleans and crisp finish.

(draught) pours a murky chestnut brown colour with a frothy light beige head. aroma of herbal hops, light roasted malts, black elderberry and honey, with a light husky graininess. flavour is milk chocolate and roasted malts, hazelnuts, caramel and a slightly watery finish. medium-bodied with lively carbonation.

Draught at the brauhaus
Hazy dark chestnut color, with majestic compact head. Nice aroma of dark caramel, leaning a bit too much towards the roasted malts. Soft mouthfeel, dry; flavor of dark caramel and roasted malts; relatively low bitterness, without much interest in the final, a bit watery indeed.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed, amber brown colored body with a two finger-width, creamy and foamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is lightly sweetened caramels, some nutty toast, touches of fruit, and a hint of hops. Flavor is similar. Slightly toasty and nutty caramels with a slight bread note, a light hopping, and a touch of dark fruit. Finishes clean and somewhat dry before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid dunkel. Well balanced, easy drinking, and enjoyable on one of the first sunny, warmer days in Munich. Good beer.
