3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 rozsoma (266) - HUNGARY - APR 9, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. A brutal one. Real doppelbock with its rich sweety oily body with malt notes dominating the aroma.

On tap at the brewpub. Served with a good, creamy head in a stein. Malty and spicy nose. Very spicy hoppiness and good malty backbone. Very well made.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 25, 2011
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nickls (1343) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - MAR 22, 2011
Tap at the brewpub. Two fingers of foamy white head, light brownish tawny color from what I could tell in the stoneware. Aroma has some light hoppiness and lagery sweet aromas. Very mild brew overall, and the 7.5% is to be found nowhere. Maltiness really comes through a bit more in the flavor, some caramel. Chewier body, but not overly sweet which was welcomed.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 hredwolf (13) - RUSSIA - OCT 22, 2010
This beer is definitely should be drinked from 1L stein krug in Forschungsbrauerei biergarten itself. With 7.5 alcohol It’s more drinkable than most oktoberfest biers, this is a great beer! But remember - taste can vary from year to year. 2007 was better than 2008.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beershine (4726) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2009
Draft at brewpub. Served in 1L krug. Appears amber with nice frothy head. Aroma is nice, big and bocky with a little chemical smell marring it somewhat. Soft palate. The alcohol comes out also in the flavors and almost imparts a chemical tone but the malts stand their ground and it ends up being a very nice but strong beer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 13, 2009
Golden ith no head. Bready malt aroma. Sweet and bready malt flavour with hot alcohol.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Allen (2469) - SWITZERLAND - JUN 29, 2009
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of joss. It pours a beautiful clear amber beer with no head at all. Suprisingly pale for the style. The aroma is rather nice, hoppy with hints of home made caramel, peanuts, pumpkin and pineapple. Sweet taste. Medium to full bodied. Very low carbonation. Extremely smooth. Nicely fruity (papaya and pineapple) with a good hop hop profile. Decent bitterness. No lacework at all. A warming sensation appearing with the swallow, leaving a dryish finish which is reminiscent of candied apricot and pumpkin. A very good Doppelbock. A real pleasure! Thanks a lot joss!
