My bottle has a ’Sale’ sticker on it and is about two months past its due date. Still, the faults of this beer don’t seem to have anything to do with freshness. I applaud the Italians from taking a shot at doppelbock, but this is thin and weak. There is an almost chocolatey tone underneath, which is nice, but not enough. Sorry excuse for the style, though not that bad beer overall.

Bottle from Ambrosetti, Berlin. Clear amber/brownish beer with a rich and lasting beige head. Malty caramel aroma, grainy, toffee, fruity, raisins, bready, some chocolate. Malty caramel flavor, toffee, leather, chocolate, fruity, some warming alcohol. Quite ok.

330 ml bottle. BB 08/04/15. From the brewery in Forst/Algund (BZ), Italy.
Clear coppar colour with a small light tan head. Strong sweet malty aroma with some dryness, sweetness and dark fruits. Very sweet and super malty flavour with mild bitterness and sugar. Quite OK for a Doppelbock... not my style anyway.

Bottle. Amber, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and sugary sweet aroma, caramel and some bread, light dark fruits and faint alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and sugary sweetish flavor, some caramel and light bread with faint dark fruits, light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and faint bread, some alcohol. Sugary sweetish doppelbock with caramel and bread. 6,5% makes the finish bit drier - still way too sweet for me.

Essendo una Doppelbock, rientra tra i miei stili preferiti, ma devo ammettere che non mi ha stupito, forse per il suo dolce che, a lungo andare, diventa un po’ stucchevole. E’ comunque abbastanza interessante...
