Lambister (348) - FINLAND - JAN 20, 2015
Bottle @ west coast of Italy. Darkish brown color with a thin light brown head. Nose is pretty sweet with a nutty character. While flavors are malty and roasted, it has notes of nuts. Bit too much bite at the middle cuts the finish and the flavors too quickly, otherwise decent brew.

Draft at barley corn NYC. Pours a transparent brown color with a bubbly head that fades. Nutty Carmel malty flavor with a straight forward flat taste

Pours coppery, intense reddish with beige-yellowish finger wide frothy top, light to medium lasing. Aroma- first was unpleasant boiled vegetables, a bit toasted malts although almost no malty, some licorice, a bit sour- messy. Taste is sweet, malty flavor, a bit nutty, minimal bitter, pleasant but short. Moderate to full body, light dry finish, toasted-roasted like aftertaste. Except aroma- enjoyable brew.

Moravius (905) - Beijing, CHINA - DEC 13, 2014
Niedliches kleines Fläschchen (20 cl) von Getränkefeinkost Berlin. - Rotbraun, klar, rasch schwindender Schaum. Mild rezent, vollmundig. Abgang kräftig holzig-krautig hopfenherb, wenngleich etwas dumpf. Längerer bitterer Nachtrunk. - Ordentlicher Doppelbock nach deutscher Tradition. Den „Maisgritz“ (Maisgrieß) schmeckt man nicht heraus.

My bottle has a ’Sale’ sticker on it and is about two months past its due date. Still, the faults of this beer don’t seem to have anything to do with freshness. I applaud the Italians from taking a shot at doppelbock, but this is thin and weak. There is an almost chocolatey tone underneath, which is nice, but not enough. Sorry excuse for the style, though not that bad beer overall.

Bottiglia da 33cl. Color tonaca di frate con schiuma fine color nocciola di media tenuta. Aromi tostati, di caramello e frutta matura. Al palato inizio dolcino caramellato con finale tostato dove si sente parecchio l’alcol.
