75cl bottle. Pour is orangey gold with a massive white head that fades to a thick film. Nose is spicy, funky, winey, with banana and orange peel. Taste is sweet-ish with notes of Belgian ester, light fruit and some sugar. Finish is strangely earthy & funky. Really interesting little beer.

Bottle (vintage 2008): Light winey aroma with fruity notes of white wine, grapes, citrus peel. Also some malty notes and some sweetness. Huge foamy head, hazy golden color. Flavor is quite sourish, winey, notes of grapes. Also some candy notes and a pleasant hop bitterness. Realy a beer champagne!

nate2g (1548) - Marlborough, NEW ZEALAND - APR 24, 2010
Bottle (Vintage 2009). Hazy golden with a large frothy white head that slowly collapsed. Patchy lacing around the glass. Nose of spice, banana, passionfruit, citrus peel and sulphur notes. The flavour is bread, spice, dried banana, passionfruit and zesty citrus. Highly carbonated. Attenuation is not great. Dry and peppery finish - slight acidity as well. Not a bad crack at the style.

mross (169) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - APR 15, 2010
Bottle - Vintage 2009. Pours a hazy deep golden colour with a large frothy white head which collapses slowly. Aroma is vinous and of fruit, banana, citrus and spicy with a nice funky note in the nose. Sweet fruit, banana, slightly acidic and peppery flavour with hints of passionfruit in the aftertaste. Bitter hop presence quite noticeable. Quite a fresh mouthfeel with is nice and prickly on the tongue. Interesting and not bad at all.

Marko (3115) - Split, CROATIA - FEB 26, 2009
Bottle (vintage 2008) that ogivlado purchased at the brewpub and shared with me (thanks!). Poured a murky apricot body with a huge off white head that went away slowly. The Cascades used seem to dominate the nose, but a sweet grainy maltiness also reveals itself. Sourish too. The taste starts off dry, fruity with some Cascade too. Bitter hopiness, merging with a persistent, lingering herbal acidity in the finish and aftertaste. Notes of bubblegum too. The acidity is balanced by the fruity maltiness and the overall result is damn nice actually. Extremely complex and a very interesting beverage. One that might not have scored as highly on another day and with someone else, but still great. Gerhard Forstner, you rock!
