Saeglopur (1043) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - JUL 21, 2015
330 ml bottle from 2013.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, frothy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma mainly of strong rubber and peat.
Tastes of smoke, peat, rubber, caramel, some dried fruits, some grass.
Medium mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smokey, peaty, a bit sweet malty.

Not my cup of tea. I don’t like the nose at all, pretty bad. Taste is a bit better, with some more other notes. Overall not a beer I can finish or would drink again.

Werckmeister (895) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JUL 21, 2015
330ml bottle at home shared by Saeglopur, many thanks. Vintage 2013. According to bottle 6.8 ABV. BB 10/2015. orange hazy color, small off-white head. smells of smoke, peat, leather, rubber, very very light malty roast notes. too strong peat notes, not my thing. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of peat, rubber, citric notes, light smoke, some fruit notes in the background. finishes with peat and rubber. Rather extreme this one, others would call it unbalanced. Would need a lot more body for the strong peat notes. Interesting but does not drink too well.

Kavu (2907) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 10, 2015
0,33l bottle @ HBF 2015. Pours slightly cloudy golden with a medium head. Aroma is slightly smoky malts. Flavor is smoked malts with notes of ham and whisky and a hoppy finish. Nice.

0,33 pullo @ hbf. Samea "ruskettunut" oranssinruskea. Tuoksussa paahteisuutta, mallasta, savukinkkua, humalaa. Maistuu varsin kinkkuiselta. Mukava humala ja mallasta.

bottle, 2013. nice foam, color not so much. smokey sweet smell. little perlage. mix of sweet maple, slight citrus hoppyness, definitely smoke. previous reviews pretty accurate, but mine had a clean smell and wasn?t sour at all. I like it a lot. would not call it cheap whisky, but it is an acquired taste. probably excellent fit for honey glazed baby back ribs...

Scopey (8999) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle thanks to Leighton. First the Hill Farmstead now this….. wow you really are spoiling us! It pours hazy golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is smoke, grainy, honey roast ham and TCP...an odd mix indeed. The taste is citrus, ham, smoke, underlying sweetness, light ketchup, honey, warming alcohol and medicinal notes. Medium body and fine carbonation. An interesting meaty brew....but doesn’t work very well.

jackl (5804) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle @ The Mini Tasting. The pour’s deep gold with a small white head. The nose is maple ham, vomit and hints of whisky. The taste is overly-sweet scotch, wood, some caramel and loads of ham. Accents of rotting cardboard. Hard to drink. Overall, this is the definition of a fiasco. Scandalous work from the Austrian brewery.

Leighton (13952) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2012
Bottle at the Mini Tasting, London. Pours faintly hazy gold with a light, white foam head. Nose is a bit off-putting, some mild tangy malts, subtle ham. Medium sweet flavor, some lightly toasty malts, some mellow ham, faint berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish, light ham, subtly tangy malts. A touch thin, though still a lot of interesting stuff going on. Doesn’t completely work, but OK.

Geiserich (3696) - Linz, AUSTRIA - JAN 7, 2012
Bottle: Quite sourly aroma, notes of vinegar, milk sour. Smoked ham. Hazy yellow color, cramy head. Flavor is also sourly, light malty with caramel notes, smoky, quite inetnsive notes of ham. Nice try, but unclean and sour.

ogivlado (6341) - Zagreb, CROATIA - JAN 5, 2011
Bottled 330ml. -Hazy yellow/golden coloured, small white head, strong unpleasant and stinky sauerkraut nose. No trace of smoke anywhere in the nose. Interesting, the taste is totally different; moderate malty with light smokey ham and some subdued hops. All in all quite messy beer.
