Commercial Description:
Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you'll remember.

bottled, this one leaves me with a bad taste. not literally, just thought it would be more. dark pour with good size head that lasted for a minute or so. you can smell the malts and the sweetness but to me there is no flavor or aroma of chocolate. just kind of a bitter taste not very good but this is just my humble opinion.

Pours a dark, opaque chocolate brown with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent cinnamon tan head. Aroma is rich, smoky, oily and chocolaty with hints of molasses and coffee. Flavor is smoky and chocolaty, slightly sweet, touched with fine roast coffee and molasses. Thick texture is smooth and fizzy, quite lively.

Black pour with brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of roasted malt, light chocolate. Little bitter, little watery.

12oz bottle pours very dark with dark brown edges and thin tan head. The aroma is organic, earthy and a bit oxidized with notes of toffee to create a toasted German dark bread sensation. The taste feels thin and begins with a brief moment of dark fruity esters. It then becomes modestly burnt with mild chocolate notes. It seems to end with a light burnt malt note mixing with faint dark chocolate.

Light and thin, roasty. Dark Malt flavor, like chocolate was as an afterthought, not the focus, rather weak.

Smokey, chocolate aroma. Pours a jet black with a tan head. Thin body, not much going on. Very dry and not much of a finish. Big disappointment.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma consists of sweet grain, coffee, not much else. Not many detectable flavors in this one... it has medium sweetness, and is lightly bitter with medium body, slick feel, soft carbonation with an abrupt finish. Blah.

Bottle as part of a mix6. Nose is pretty bland - dark malt, light roasts and a weird vegetal earthiness that doesn’t really fit. Tastes standard stout - some hazelnut and creamy roasted malt. Light bitter coffee finish. Unremarkable, though quite drinkable.

From a bottle poured black with a small amount of head, Nice toasted malty flavor with a lasting bitter finish.
