COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For American Craft Beer Week, nine of our local breweries collaborated together to create one hell of a beer that represents the best of each brewery – Fort Collins Collusion 2011 Ale.

In late April, brewers from C.B. & Potts, Coopersmith’s, Crooked Stave (who is brewing out of Funkwerks), Equinox Brewing, Fort Collins Brewery, Funkwerks, New Belgium Brewing Co., Odell Brewing Co., and Pateros Creek Brewing gathered together in Old Town to create the commemorative beer. They used Schezwan peppercorns from Old Town Spice Shop, and Chrysanthemum and Elderflower from Happy Lucky’s Teahouse, bringing all of the ingredients to brew at Coopersmith’s and Equinox’s breweries. The two batches were then blended, kegged and shipped out to participating breweries to tap for customers.

Swing top growler shared by hwwty4, thanks Bill. Color is dark golden, cannot see through it. The beer is very herbal, strong on flowers, straight up spice beer, up front and present. Its a clean golden ale back there and spices all over the place, weird spices, just the way I like it.

Swing top growler shared by hwwty4. Pour is an orange golden with a smallish white head. Aroma is herbal, sage, basil, and other generic fresh herbs. Below the garden is some light malt. Taste is the herbal basil, spearmint, really bright, clean and drinkable. Perhaps a bit one dimesional, though I like the dimension, so don’t mind. Palate is medium bodied, nice carbonation level and a crisp clean finish in the back. Nice, thanks for sharing this Bill.

Collaboration beer between 9 local breweries(CB & Potts, Coopersmiths, Crooked Stave, Equinox, Fort Collins, Funkwerks, New Belgium, Odells and Pateros Creek). On draft at Funkwerks. Pours a hazy golden yellowish orange color with pale golden tangerine hues and a 2.5 finger frothy, soapy off white head that slowly fades into a lasting cap. Sporadic rings, streaks and spots of soapy lacing are left behind. Complex aroma which is very floral with subtle earthy funk and zesty spice. Sweet malt notes and faint earthy hops. Coriander, flower petals, barnyard notes and faint light fruit. Lighter end of medium bodied with a very soft mouthfeel. The chrysanthemums and elderglowrrs are very prominent with creaminess and light fruit. Slight zesty spice with pepper but not picking up much szechaun peppercorn. Subtle lingering spice. Abv excellently masked making it very drinkable. Malt is there but not overpowering. Usually collaborations suck because there experimentation and imagination is better than the final product but this beer came out pretty well, remaining unique without sacrificing quality.

On tap at Odell poured a clear yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, floral notes, pepper and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of straw, floral notes, light pepper and light citrus with a smooth dry lingering floral finish.

draft. filtered gold body with a small white head. instant herbal and potpourri nose with medium dishsoap phenols and only traces of malt. moderately rough texture up front followed by more of a silky texture in the finish. altogether overpowered by the herbal ingredients which i find strongly unpalatable.
