3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Poured up on tap at Datz Deli in Tampa looking clear copper with thin tan head. The aroma is modest in strength and takes me some time to gauge. I get sweet malts, mild spicy hops and a yeasty lagery-ness. The taste has some fresh crisp spice to floral to mildly earthy hops with the earthiness trying to bridge over to a sense of oxidation. I also get slightly roasty malts and malt sweetness taking to midway and then the finish. Behind those notes is a persistent thin layer of sweet lager yeastiness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 2, 2010
Draft at Redlight Redlight. The pour yields a crystal clear, dark golden to copper colored body with a thin sheet of khaki foam at the head. Solid rings of lacing with a tattered edge coat the glass. Aromas are of caramelized bread, clove, toast, caramelized sugar, and mild floral hops. Flavors are the mirror image, balanced between caramel sugar, toast, biscuit, and grain, with a mildly peppery hop finish. The palate is initially round, semi-dry, and moderately carbonated, drinking fairly easy. Decent brew.
