This was a nice beer that I am not sure if this is just the regular or double chocolate but either way, still very good.

Good brew. Pours very dark with thin tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and roasted malt. Tastes of chocolate and malt with a hint of caramel. Plenty of roast flavor and alcohol flavor in the finish. Very underrated IMO.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 ml bottle pours black with a big off white head and lots of lace. The aroma is of lactic malted milk, coffee, chocolate, and some yeasty bready thing going on. The flavor is roasty and malty, with strong hints of chocolate. The palate is lively, rich, and welcoming. Overall, under rated.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
tap at the brewpub - I had this one immediately following their regular chocolate stout. It is of course similar, but is certainly a more robust version with a heavier roast malt aroma and a big roast malt flavor with some good dark chocolate notes. It’s full bodied with some solid bitterness to it. It’s simply a very good brew and in my opinion better than the ratings here. Maybe it’s losing something in the bottling.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Tj’s. Pours dark brown with a fluffy light tan head that slowly descends to about an inch and sticks throughout the session. Im impressed. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee grounds, bitter hops, slightly vegetal , with only a little bit of cocoa. Flavor starts off very bitter with flavors of wet coffee grounds, alcohol, dark chocolate and finally a sweet syrupy finish. Leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and not a good bitter. Improves slightly as it warms.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from Lukas Liquors in KC. Black body with a medium khaki head. Aroma of freshly made coffee and some dark chocolate. There is also a little bit of apple. The taste has some sweetened coffee and pancakes. There is also a little bit of toasted bread crust. The chocolate is understated. A decent brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pitch black color you’d expect, with a thin tan head. The aroma is more coffee than chocolate. Ashy almost. Drinks with a bitter baking chocolate thing going on, bitingly bitter at the finish, almost gritty. Nice night cap. (#3364, 3/29/2008)

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A black appearance with a beige head. The aroma was coffee and chocolate. The flavor was quite roasty with more chocolate and coffee showing through. The mouthfeel was a bit thin. The aftertaste was rather bitter. Overall this was a pretty good but not great stout.
