3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
[Bottle, thanks BDR!] Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is deep roasted malt--almost charred in fact. The taste is also dominated by the roasted malt, but there is also a lot of chocolate and some coffee present. Decent mouthfeel with a long finish. Not bad, but I really donít care for the charred malt found in here.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared by BDR. Bitter chocolate and malt aroma. Black in color and little carbonation. Flavor is bitter, almost charred with burnt popcorn, chocolate, and malt. No hop presence, which is fine for the style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to BDR for sharing. Black color with a thin head. Roasted barley aroma. Monster bitter chocolate and roasted malt flavor. As subtle as a bourbon barrel stout that has 4 ounces of bourbon in it. Has a burnt or charred finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells, as one might expect, like chocolate. Seems a bit thin at first. Anyway, the best way I could think of to describe the flavor is like if you took chocolate milk instead of cream and poured it in coffee. Nice stuff, actually.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Dark brown with a quickly diminishing beige hed. Aroma of bakerís chocolate with some espresso and a cream note. Sweet chocolate flavor with a bitter burnt leaf roastiness and some minerals. Thinner body than Iíd like. Was hoping for something fuller, creamier. Aside from the body issue I thought it wasnít too bad overall.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Pours near opaque; only a little light gets through. Itís topped by a well retained deep khaki head. The aroma has some burnt sesame oil, milky cream notes, roasted barley and cocoa. Fluffy mouthfeel, yet it feels watery simultaneously. The flavor has some milk chocolate upfront. Milky-cream-like flavor. Then it leads into more peppery notes of dark earthy/burning tobacco, burnt sesame seeds and a charred finish. I donít know why I picked up on so much sesame character; itís probably a malt component. Not a bad Stout, just a bit odd.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2008 22 oz bomber. Solid black with a small white head. Strong coffee, burnt malts, sweet nose. Taste is sweet, viscous, chewy, lingering, tongue swirling. Alcohol is evident. Just a bit thin on the end but a nice beer.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Oh baby! Too rich for my blood is what she said. I say this brew hits the mark. Very dark opaque in color with a two finger head that recedes slowly to a thin ring of lace. Strong aromas of chocolate roasted coffee. Nice! Medium nectar with ample residual effers. Itís very expansive on the palate, almost too much. A strong roasted coffee component balanced by chunky mounds of dark chocolate. Oreo cookie (the dark part), malted wafers, The finish is bittered well leaving me with the desire to carry on as if I was a soldier returning to camp in a dense rain forest. Overall this brew is rich and chocolaty with defined coffee essence and a hint of mint. Itís not viscous but carries itself well. Even as it warms DCS has a great constitution.

bottle. Man Iíve poured a lot of beer down the drain lately. Donít waste your calories on this one. Nice bitter choc up front, but finish is reminiscent of a wet dog.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black with dark tan head. Loads of chocolate and coffee on the nose and palate as well. Dark roasted bitter chocolate malts that lead to a slightly bitter finish. Great DCS!
