Tmoney99 (3650), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 13, 2008 Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate toasted malt, chocolateand coffee aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew. yobdoog (374), Woodridge, New York, USA Oct 12, 2008 Better as it warmed and had a lot of cocoa and sweet chocolate on the taste and aroma. Smooth and nice fluffy head. Big aroma is very pleasant. Body is medium to heavy and has some coffee present too. Nice. shigadeyo (1399), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Oct 9, 2008 10/01/2008: Fort Collins Double Chocolate Stout has a deep brown to near black color with a small, foamy tan head. The aroma is very roasty and very much like strong coffee. The roasty, dark chocolate and coffee flavor is good, but lacks depth. It’s still good though and quite strong. The alcohol peeks out around the edges, but that’s okay. This beer has a medium body with an average palate, but is better than expected overall.
