You could tell me this is an Impy and Iíd believe you. Perhaps it made a difference that I tasted this from a large wine glass rather than pint glass or whatever.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is hops, slightly nutty and organic. Taste is nutty, wood, some spice, and malts. I didnt get any chocolate out of this at all in aroma or taste. If it was there it was very little. The finish is hoppy and bitter. Over all it is thin and not very stout like at all. Not something I would get again.

Pours a dark brown, with tan head. Thin aroma, notes of chocolate and malts. Taste of chocolate, malts, and coffee. This is a very drinkable brew, but isnít as sweet or rich as some other double chocolates(Rogue). Still, this one merits a íthumbs upí.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2016 I didn?t expect what I got from this bottle! Everything about this stout was very good. I seem to say this a lot...the only improvement I could ask for is a thicker mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy of nuplastikk, thanks! Very dark opaque brown color, beige head. Aroma has vanilla, coffee, almost bourbon. Tate is rich bourbony vanilla, dark chocolate, licorice, espresso. Very tasty.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, dark chocolate, rye bread, liquorice, raisins, roast, hint of vanilla, dark fruits. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a moderate roasty bittersweet finish. Body is just above medium. Good one!

12oz bottle. Opaque brown-black. Soapy beige head. Aspirin dry cocoa aroma. Rich doughy chocolate flavor. Not as rich as a typical Imperial Stout.,but a little bigger than a straightforward Stout too. Sort of tame, uninspired. Decent enough.

12 oz. bottle. Pour was thick black with minimal tan head. Aroma was roasty malts, chocolate, coffee and a little ash or ash tray. Taste was sweet and chocolaty. Left a bitter chocolate finish.
