UPDATED: JUN 16, 2007 Bottle. Crystal clear and topaz-colored, with a small but lasting head. Aroma is more like papaya to me. Taste is mild papaya-banana with good balance from some slight spicy, peppery hops (or coriander, or paradise seeds?). Palate is light-medium and very refreshing, with some citric tingle. Much better summer seasonal selection than an American wheat.

My 100th Colorado beer. A medium and cloudy yellow body when poured out of the bottle. The aroma is that nice fruity note of pomegranate. It is like an apple with more tart raspberries. The taste is rich and dry. The pomegranate makes it slightly tart, similar to raspberries. Come on, I am trying to describe pomegranate flavor without saying only that. There is also a note of dry vinous character. This is a refreshing and crisp summer beer. I like this more than I should. Better than most American fruit wheats.

Bottled. Pours a straw color with a reddish hue. Fruity aroma with some vinegar notes. Dry and clean flavor with some wine notes. Finishes a bit musty. Pretty good beer.

Pours with a slightly cloudy, golden body topped by a thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and fruity with notes of wine. The flavor is similar with underlying bitter notes and a touch of yeast. Light bodied, crisp and highly carbonated.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with average head that quickly fades leaving a nice lattice of lacework. Aroma is quite peachy with some wheat accents. Lively carbonation with a refreshing flavor for a fruit beer. Flavor is somewhat peachy with a very pinot grigio flavor and a nice bitter tartness on the finish.

Explodes out of bottle with a five+ finger white head that fades to a shallow layer leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and light-medium bodied. Fruity nose, is this what pomegranate smells like? Starts tart and fruity, different, canít really detect any wheat, tart almost sour finish. This would be a good summer beer. $1.49 for a 12oz bottle from Johnís Grocery Iowa City, IA.

And here we go with yet another pomegranate wheat beer. I still havenít figured out why everyone keeps taking a stab at this precise combination. It just seems to bode a beer that misses the mark. Letís see how this goes. Pours a fogged golden amber with a big head off a firm pour that falls thin pretty quickly. Nose is barely there. Seems to be a very elusive whiff of fruit, and thatís all. Flavor is slicky sweet with what one would guess to be the pomegranate , but doesnít really seem like it too much. I am sure it is just another pouring of syrup into the beer kinda thing. At least this one has some decent wheat character to it. And it seems like the warmer it gets, the more even it becomes. I am actually sitting here thinking that I might give a 4 on flavor, so I will. That surprises me as most of these pomegranate wheats just end up being totally weak. This one at least has some positive attributes. Feel is a bit of a tingle on the tongue from carbonation and who knows what else. Liquid is kind of doughy. This ends up being pretty drinkable actually. Though it seems to be better warmer than cold.

Purchased at Breeze Thru in Milwaukee, WI; consumed on a Sunday afternoon while watching basketball. I was skeptical of purchasing this as Iíve never seen a pomegranate alcoholic beverage, but itís actually pretty decent. Aroma kind of odd, definitely a bit fruity but also has the wheat ale yeast and malt in the mix. Appearance clear golden with a thin white head. Taste you can definitely taste a bit of the pomegranate and it has a rather crisp finish. A bit tart on the finish as well, but not super tart. Itís pretty good, I donít know if I would order this again but Iím glad I tried it once.

The brew was a crisp, light straw color with a slight haze to it. Like most flavored beers, the pomegranate was fairly light, but suprisingly pleasant. Mouthfeel was a little on the dry side, but other than that, this beer was very refreshing. I could see it being a great summer beer for Coloradoans, besides Coors Light. LOL!
