Pours a deep amber/brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has caramel and chocolate...bit like a tootsie roll...mildly sweet. Flavor follows suit...some dry leaves and nuttiness. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is earthy with caramel, dry leaves, and faint chocolate.

Medium bodied, slightly dry in texture, lively carbonation, and a light alcoholic finish.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NikkTwist (886) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Draft at Khyber Pass. Pours a clear dark red with a big fizzy foamy white head. Not much aroma. Tastes like somewhat diluted red fruits. Pomegranite cherry juice. Some darker coffee maple curling on the ends. Red plums and grapes. Fizzy but a light body. Bit difficult to get my head around. Does not feel like amber at all. Smooth but uninteresting. Flavors I have had many times before but better.

Palate is a medium body, slightly smooth mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Finishes with caramel malt, yeasty fruity flavors with some earthy hops bitterness for balance and a bit of a nutty ending. Overall a good amber ale.

June 9th, 2011 - I often complain that ambers don’t exhibit a lot of variance, but sometimes you find one that is exceptional, and in a good way. One example is Fort Collins Brewery’s Red Banshee - a fair looking woman but promising a dark howl, hue and cry of flavor. Like the woman on the label, the beer is a deep ruby red, with a loose, tan head. Caramel and maraschino cherries sweeten up the aroma, topped with a hint of apple - curiously rich for an amber. Finally, the flavor has abundant deep caramel tastes, almost as dark and sweet as a dark chocolate, with a deep hint of sweet, ripe fruits, almost like the merest (basso) peep of raspberry jam. All in all, this is a deep and satisfying brew, readily available and pretty cheap, and showing off everything an amber can do.

Bottle. Reddish brown pour with a light beige head. Aroma is earthy, toffee, and caramel malt. Decent hop bitterness in here. Moderate palate. Decent amber.
Seems like there is a lot of variation in the ratings on this guy - I’m not seeing what would make someone feel strongly about this, good or bad.
