A striking ruby hue and spicy floral nose punctuate the pleasant sweetness of this brew. Crystal malt coalesces with the earthy flavor of Willamette hops. A hauntingly beautiful combination.

12 oz. from Riverside. Nice brick color, though the thin head disappeared rapidly, more like a brown ale than a red/amber. Much darker in the malts than I would have expected from the style, with a little chocolate bitterness (with the hops adding to the bittersweetness of the chocolate). The finish is way too sweet, with an earthy sweetness like molasses or caramelized veggies. Iíve had far, far worse, but Iíve also had much better.

Bottled. Poured clear, but a murky shade of reddish-brown with a very short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up lightly-smoked caramel and darker fruits with pine and herbal accents.. very floral and flagrant.. I enjoyed it. The flavor was on the sweet side, again with lightly-smoked caramel, adding toffee.. more fruits on the back-end with a sharp, not-so-well balanced bitterness.. finishes very sweet. Light-medium bodied on the palate with lower carbonation (wish it was a little more active).. didnít enjoy the finish so much.

A very nice, bread like aroma. Deep red with a thin tan head. Quite hoppy finish. Darker than expected but a good beer.

12 oz bottle-trade w/pepsican. Pours a fairly dark red color w/a slight head & good lacing. Floral hop aroma. Has some hop bite on the front end, more than your typical amber. Hop kind of overpowers the malt, but it still has a toasted almond, bread dough flavor to it. Not bad, solid Amber, very drinkable. Thanks Andy!!

Light ruby with a tan head. More malty than hops in the nose. Tastes almost like a porter, smoke and hops with a bit of caramel and molasses. Completely different than I expected, but pretty good.

Pours a deep red with a toasty brown head. Aroma of malt and a touch of hoppiness. Taste is on the toasty side with a nice bitterness that finishes.

Pours a deep, clear, reddish brown with a small, creamy, beige head, decent lacing and tons of rising bubbles. The nose is a solid malty/peaty front with lightly fruity hops in the background. Light to medium-bodied with a super slick palate and a toasted, lightly dry finish. The flavor follows the nose with toasted and lightly peaty malt backed by just enough fruity hop bite to keep things in balance. Iím not a big fan of most ambers, but this one is pretty decent.

Tasted 9/28/07. 12oz bottle. Ruby amber hued. Big bubbled ring of off-white head. Malty with slightly musty aromas. Bready malts. Touch citrus in the nose. Medium bodied with a moderate roast. Light effervescence. Nice bitter hoppy finish. Nice malts, but the bright hops overwhelm. Nice cocoa note as it warms. Tight yet mild effervescence. Mild bitterness. Decent enough.

draft @ brewery. Nutty with hints of roasty aromas. Pours amber red. Smooth and caramelly, good malt flavor, with hints of hops. Session beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep red color with white foam that fades quickly leaving a just a thin layer of foam, decent lacing. Aroma is biscuit malt with a little bit of earthy hoppiness. Flavor is big on crystal and biscuit malts, little bit of hoppiness in the finish, very low carbonation. Just a tad too sweet for me, but overall a solid amber ale.
