2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
An enormous aroma on the pour, powerful floral, citrus, and piney hops. A lot of carbonation and a disappearing thin white head. Another nice but not great IPA. The taste is citrusy, lots of grapefruit and some floral hops. Sits very bitter on the palate and finishes bitter. It’s nice to see the style so embraced by craft brewers. But there is a clear difference between the good and the greats.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The aroma is the stand out nice part of this beer, as the piney/floral notes explode much more than your a average ipa. The flavor is less appealing, but still very good. Could use a bit more maltbackbone as the resiny hop flavors come off as a bit bracing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz - Aroma of caramel malt and citrus hops. Pours transparent brown with a medium head and great lacing. Flavor matches aroma with the hops being more intense and a little hot. Palate is crisp and tart. A nice session IPA if you don’t want to forget you’re drinking an IPA after a couple.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz. bottle. Sharply citric, sweet aroma, plenty of juicy grapefruit and toasty, honeyish malts, with lighter notes of pine and brown sugar. Hazy medium orange-amber color with a lasting, fine head. Flavor is immediately bitter and citric, somewhat spicy and very dry, with a faint degree of toasty, lightly sweet maltiness at the finish and a lingering resinous hop bite. Lightly astringent and highly carbonated palate with a medium body. Rather unbalanced and harsh.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice deep amber coloured body with an orange tint and a very thin tan head. Aroma of grapefruity & earthy hops with some caramel, malt and nuts. Medium-bodied; Sharp hops noticeable up front fading to a very strong malty and nutty flavour. Aftertaste shows more nuts, malt, sweet flavours, raisins and some odd cardboard. Overall, not a very good IPA - way too malty and nutty than anything else. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage Center in Albany, New York on 10-January-2008.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden hue with a frothy white head that faded to a thin coating and mild lacing/. Very grassy aroma, with a hint of hops. Not a lot of pine and citrus notes which i am accustomed too. Flavor was decent a good balance between bitter hops and earth like malts. Crisp finish mild palate.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours copper with a fluffy white head. Some lacing is left over. Nose is dominated by grapefruit, grass, and caramel malt. Flavors are green and sharp. Pine, and citrus, with that grassy follow-up. Some earthy notes mixed with a caramel malt backbone follow the hop burn only to finish with a sharp astringency and pine needles. Light-Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
Fort Collings Rocky Mountain IPA
Appearance - Like every other IPA - golden brown with small amount of white head. Like in the parking lot in the back of suburban mom’s minivan at the Snowball dance.
Aroma - Like wood. Like every IPA. Like grapefruit rotting in the back of the fridge, you are drawn to smell it, even though you know it won’t be good.
Palate - Lite and crisp. Almost like sucking on a piece of wood. La la la.
Taste - Woody, bitter as all get out. Did I mention woody? A Weird after taste. Not horrible, but certainly not unique.
Have you had an IPA before? Then you’ve had Rocky Mountain IPA.
