Cabbage nose. Clear amber, medium yellow head. Flavor is cloying butterscotch. As a fan of wheat beers and IPAs, I was excited to try this, but it didn’t live up to my expectations.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Butters (3324) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Sampled at the at 18th Richmond gathering. Side by side with the belgian and the black. My least favorite of the three. Sweet and not that hoppy. The wheat seems to have overpowered the hops. A little hay, and lingering bitterness on the tail.

Juicy flavor with a front forward assault of grapefruty bitterness, sweet, sticky maple syrup notes, some nectarines, bananas, and a touch of mint in. Good, thick sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid - not a hop-bomb

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 scoth (437) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Pours clear amber with a big puffy lasting beige head, very fine clinging lacing. Aromas of grass, hay, grapefruit, biscuit, toffee. Medium-full body, smooth and velvety. Sweet and rich, balanced by big lasting bitterness with a hint of tang in between. It’s big, brash, and full of panache, but lacks subtlety. Takes more after the IPA side of the family. A grand experiment.
