3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Shag (2443) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - SEP 15, 2010
This poured an amber color with a moderate off white head. The aroma contains some caramel, toffee, biscuits, and bananas. The flavor contains some caramel, bananas, biscuits, and booze. The aftertaste is quite sweet and boozey. This is much darker than any wheat wine I’ve had. Overall this is not a session beer and as per usual too sweet for my liking but ok in small amounts.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Veteran’s Liquor in Colorado Springs. Husky, musty, malty aroma with good sweetness present. Lightly fruity and fairly aromatic. Transparent amber body with a yellowish head that is medium in size. Very sweet, sugary start with some caramel notes. Light husky, dusty wheat flavors in the middle. Light hops to finish. Sweet and a bit cloying. Lacks some inspiration.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Poured a clear deep amber with a muted yellow head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was strong wheat with a hint of pine. Flavor was similarly strong one note wheat with just a hint of pine. Nice and smooth, almost syrupy. Would have enjoyed a bit more complexity here.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dorwart (2266) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Strong off-white head of fine bubbles. Minimal carbonation. Weak and fruity aroma with some sweet tarts, sweet malts and some malts. Color is a dark copper brown. Sweet and malty flavor with a strong alcohol presence. Mostly malts and hottness. Medium bodied. Finishes sweet and malty. Not a very good barleywine.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 garrison (717) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - JUN 23, 2010
From a twenty four ounce bottle purchased at "Keller’s IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio’s "Gaslight Clifton" neighborhoos. This one pours out a dusky reddish amber hued brew, with a tiny bubbled off white head of foam and a light mown grass aroma. Tastewise, it’s rather complex, with the plum-malt character being the strongest suit and the bitter finish also being engaging and enjoyable... that reminds me of a few past girlfriends of mine!

22oz bottle. clear copper under a small, frothy off-white head. sweet aroma with caramel and bruised banana aroma. weird mix of flavor that just isn’t coming together. gum, caramel, apple, coffee grinds? palate suffers with a sticky, thin mouthfeel, lots of fusely alcohol, and a lingering tart bitterness.
