December, 2012. On tap at Engine 15. Light amber pour with a small khaki head. Weird aroma of wood, burning, and caramel really makes this smell like buttered popcorn. Overly sweet flavor again with a weird woody caramel and popcorn aspect. Blech.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 UncleKorm (249) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 7, 2012
On tap at Brewer’s Republic tap house. Poured hazy orange w/ a good sized white fizzy head. Aroma was sweet apple, light woody, and toasty. Flavor was bold: vanilla, caramel, dark fruits, and a strong flavor of Jim Beam, with Sweet initial flavor and a boozy finish, finishes dry. It is an interesting beer, but not one I’d want more than a few ounces of.

I got this on tap. For a high density beer, the alcohol was very understated (which is a good thing to me). I love the oak heaviness, without heavy caramel or coffee tones. Flavorful choice.

Pours deep reddish brown with a pillow of white head. Big oaky aroma with a bit of vanilla. Taste is all oak, vanilla, and raisins that combines to taste a bit like a grape fruit snack. The alcohol burn doesn’t hit untik its sat in the back of your throat a bit.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 rhialistic (156) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 22, 2012
Poured pale orange with thin white head, aromas of vanilla, banana, berry, bread and plenty of oak. Taste of oak, vanilla, yeast, and a hint of smokiness with berry notes. Silky medium mouthfeel mellows into a dry finish. Could not taste 9.3% ABV in this one.
