Bottle, courtesy of Blankboy. Nice fiery dark amber, very little white head. Pleasant smoked apple wood aroma, some nice caramel tones in there as well - very appealing. Taste - smoked wood and fruit up front, more citrus in middle and finishes with some light hops. Pretty flavourful. Body is light to medium, could stand maybe a bit more carbonation, it seemed a little flat. Long light smoky / fruity linger. Interesting and well done.

Pours gold into a shaker. Offwhite head recedes to hug rim. Sweet malt aromas. Slight smoked malt - mostly just straightforward lager.

What a surprise when I ordered this poured it into a glass and thought "wow this is dark for a lager." I then sipped it and was completely confused as there was some smoke in this. I looked at the label and nothing struck me as out of place I than rotated the bottle and the first word in the description was Rauchbier. It is mildly smokey not in a ham hock sort of way but it is noticable. Without the smoke I think the beer would be below average so I think they need to work on the original recipe and then add the smoke part. Still I give them an A for throwing a curve ball on a full count.

12 oz bottle. Poured amberish copper in color with a thin white head. Aroma is of smoked malts, and smoked meats. Taste is mild malts up front which quickly is taken over by a nice mellow smoked malt flavor and some mild spices. Not much more to it. Quite drinkable.

Darkish opaque honey color. Slightly sweet aroma. Flavor is smoky malt with a slight bitter aftertaste. Almost has a finish not unlike a good bourbon. Interesting flavor.

Aroma is a faint smoky scent. Color is a clear golden amber with good carbonation and a thin tight head. Taste is light and smoky. Starting with a light body it goes down smooth with a crisp feel on the end. Finish is sharp with a mild malt taste and a nice smoke flavor and ends bitter. After taste is clean with a dry bitterness. Its a very easy drinking brew that is well balanced, but it just not very exciting.
